"I'm so sorry!"
(Y/N) jumped up from her seat at the dining table, untucking her shirt from her skirt to stop the hot tea from seeping even further onto her skin through the fabric. She whined in pain as she felt the burn start to settle in. The worker's eyes widened and she quickly set the tea down on the table, bowing her head down towards the queen,
"I-I'm so sorry, your majesty! I did not mean to!" She yelled in a quick tone.
She shook her head,
"It's alright but please help me." (Y/N) yelped.
The worker anxiously stood up properly and quickly ran out the dining room. The burn wasn't severe, but it still hurt. She sat back down and unbuttoned some of the lower buttons to expose her stomach. There was a medium-sized light red mark on there. It was getting irritated by the second, but once the worker came back, she had a doctor next to her. He ran up to her and set his first-aid kit down on the floor as he bent in front of her,
"Your majesty." He said, "If you don't mind..."
(Y/N) lifted her shirt further up to expose more skin, allowing the doctor to start treating it. The worker shut the door for some privacy and fiddled with her fingers nervously as the doctor did his work.A minute or two passed, and finally a type of bandage was applied to the area. The pain had subsided, and all that was left of the mess was her stained shirt. She thanked the doctor before he left, and the worker came back up to her. (Y/N) got handed a new shirt, and while she was taking off her old one, she turned her head to look at the woman,
"Are you new?" She asked.
"Yes, ma'am." The woman said, still clearly tense from the accident.
"Tell me about yourself then."
"I uh...I-I used to live in Shingashina before the fall, but then I moved to Wall Sina with my aunt. She was wealthier than my parents and taught me how to be a good housewife. But I didn't want to be one so I applied for a job here at the palace and got accepted."
(Y/N) buttoned up the shirt and tucked it back into her skirt, smiling at the wholesome story,
"That's nice." She said, "I hope that your skills can improve while you're here."
"You're not firing me?!" The worker asked.
"It was only a mistake. Just try not to do it again."
"Of course, ma'am."
She stood up from the chair and walked over to the door, opening it up to leave,
"You're not going to finish breakfast?" She asked.
"I'm not that hungry today." Said (Y/N).And with that, she opened up the door and disappeared down into the hallway. It was nearing noon at this point, and (Y/N) had overslept, missing her usual breakfast with Historia. It was surprising that nobody came in to wake her up, so she was angry about that. During breakfast, she asked a servant where her younger sister was, and they said that she was in the library. Remembering what they said, she immediately headed there without a second thought. Steadily, she opened up the door to the library and headed inside. Historia sat on one of the chairs with her feet propped up on the ottoman and a heavy book in her hands. The sound of (Y/N)'s footsteps made her look up and she smiled at her presence,
"Slept well?" Historia asked.
"Yes, actually." She said, sitting on the ottoman, "What're you reading?"
"I'm studying politics, actually. Your government instructed me to do so."
"Why?"
"Because I'm going to remain as your heir until you have children."
"Please."
(Y/N) rolled her eyes,
"I told them not to." She said, "These are your years to have fun."
"You're acting like you're an old woman." Historia laughed.
"I'm going to be thirty in two years so I might as well practice on being one."She lightly slapped her hands on her legs as she stood back up,
"I'm free for a few hours." Said (Y/N), "Do you want to walk around in the garden with me?"
The blonde squinted her eyes and sheepishly smiled,
"I would but..." Historia started, "I'm really busy today."
Her (E/C) eyes widened slowly, but she instantly looked down at the ground and frowned,
"Oh." She muttered.
"I'm sorry, (N/N)." She said, "I'm free for dinner though. At least we can look forward to that."
"I suppose you're right."
They both said a goodbye as (Y/N) left the room, shutting the door behind her. She was upset that she couldn't even spend time with her sister today after having a horrible morning. The only thing she really was looking forward to now was to sit alone for an hour or so in her garden. There was a backdoor nearby where she was that was a shortcut to the garden, so she took that route. It was cold that afternoon and the "heaviest" thing she was wearing was a light sweater. Still, she didn't care, and proceeded to leave the warmth of the palace. (Y/N) was greeted with a few of the workers as she walked towards her garden, only to stop in front of the fountain that was at the entrance.
