The day was warm with a cold breeze as the summer of the year 853 was nearing. Work days were shorter now that the hot weather was nearing, but for the government and military, their days became longer and more tiring. Sitting in a sunlit room was (Y/N) and Zackly. They were sitting in a conference room which was only a few hallways down from her office in the royal government building in Mitras. It was a private meeting that he requested earlier that week. He mostly talked about her accomplishments and her successful ongoing three-year long rein,
"Paradis Island is glad to have you as sovereign." He said, "The mission to Marley going into plan next year will be our biggest accomplishment yet if we succeed in it."
(Y/N) nodded,
"Thank you." She said, "I'm hoping everything goes according to plan or else all of our efforts will be for nothing."
Zackly agreed with her, noting that everything will be in the hands of the Yeager brother's, to which she didn't like the both of them at all. The rest of the conversation she just nodded and agreed to all he said, not bothering to care much about his compliments he didn't mean. Eventually, the meeting ended, and they both got up. He bowed down to her as (Y/N) exited the room, both of their faces holding a scowl.

(Y/N)'s footsteps echoed down the marble hallway as she made her way back to her office. She walked past multiple people, down multiple hallways, and even stopped multiple times to look out at the beautiful view from the gigantic windows. Once she arrived to her office, she shut the door behind her and sighed. The shuffling of her coat could be heard as she took it off and placed it around her chair before sitting down. There was a planner on her desk that was opened on today's date. She still had a bit of time before leaving work to go visit her mother at the nursing home.
The thought of seeing her mother again after a long time made her nervous. Last time she visited was about two months ago. (Y/N) left her room angrily and in tears after her mother pleaded for this "random woman" to just end her suffering. She didn't want her mother to die, not yet. She still needed Maria in her life. Even though she rarely saw her, she still loved her mother with all her life.
The phone sat on the desk. (Y/N) could feel her nervousness eating her up from the inside out. Without thinking much about it, she grabbed the phone and started dialing a number that she called hundreds of times before. The ringing was the only thing she could hear before somebody picked up.

"Military switchboard operator located in Orvud district." Said the woman, "Where would you like your call to be directed, your majesty?"
"Captain Levi's office." She said.
"One moment."
(Y/N) played around with the telephone cord as she waited for her call to be connected. A few minutes passed and finally she heard a beep. A smile formed on her face,
"(N/N)." He said, "I thought you were in a meeting."
"It ended early." She said, leaning back in her chair, "Am I interrupting your work?"
"No, not at all. I was going to take a break anyway."
"Ah, that's good..."
It became silent for a few seconds,
"Why did you call?" Asked Levi, "It couldn't be for nothing."
"I'm seeing my mom in a bit." Said (Y/N), "So I have a bit of free time before I go."
"Oh? Is there something wrong?"
"Hopefully not. I just wanted to check in on her. But anyway, how have you been?"
"Honestly, I'm tired."
She frowned,
"Levi, you should take a break." She said in a concerned and hushed voice.
"I am taking a break-"
She cut him off,
"Not like that! Take the weekend off, dear god." She angrily muttered.

He chuckled,
"I just need to sleep for a bit and I'll be fine." Said Levi.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes, I'm sure. You're worrying too much."
"I can't help it."
(Y/N) sighed as she shut her eyes and placed her hand on her forehead,
"The longer we're apart, the more worried I become about you." She said, "...I miss you, Levi."
"I miss you too, (N/N)." He said.
It was silent for a few seconds,
"I...Want to feel your touch again." He continued.
There was nervousness in his voice as he spoke those words. (Y/N) opened her eyes, smiling at what he just said,
"Do you?" She questioned, "If you want me, then just show up to wherever I'm at."
"(Y/N)..." Levi muttered, "Don't say shit like that."
"Why not? It seems like you really want to do it. I'll drop everything on my schedule just for you. Would you do the same for me?"
There was that seductive tone again. That tone that pulled him in and made him do whatever she wanted. But he shared the same thoughts as her.
