Third Person POV

As Chase looked out over the sea, hearing the water crashing against the rocks below the cliff he was sitting on, his heart finally started beating calmly, for the first time in what felt like months.

This would not continue for long, though, as he soon heard rustling in the bushes behind him. Soon two legs wrapped around him from behind, and he felt a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Oh Chase, you didn't have to do this," said the familiar voice of Skye.

She took in the view of her boyfriend sitting on a red and white picnic blanket with all of her favorite treats. Oh yeah, and the view of the sea, calmly flowing under the summer afternoon sunlight.

"Well I didn't only do it for you if that helps," Chase chuckled as Skye playfully hit him. "I just wanted some alone time for you and me, to get away from all the hustle and bustle."

The time in Adventure Bay had been very intense since the Humdinger ordeal. Since the lookout had to be rebuilt, along with pretty much all of Adventure Bay as a whole, the pups had found themselves working non-stop, helping out wherever they could.

But now, with the completion of the new and improved lookout, Ryder and the pups finally felt at home. Boy, what a journey it had been.

Chase and Skye talked and laughed and held each other for what felt like hours, probably because the hours passed. Finally, with Chase being the ever-caring pup he was, he got afraid Skye would start to freeze. But they stayed in the little clearing on the cliff, just long enough to view the sunset over the horizon.

As the sun disappeared and orange light filled the soon-to-be night sky, only two words were uttered between the two lovebirds.

I love you.

Afterwards, they shared a kiss before returning to the lookout, holding paws and smiling at each other.

THE END.

A/N: What a journey this has been. In hindsight, it probably shouldn't have taken me years to finish this story, but inspiration is something hard to find when you've lost interest in something. But hey, I hope you have all enjoyed the journey that this story was, and I will give you a huge thank you in the next chapter for your support. Until then, Olly Out!
