Humdinger Strikes Again (Second Part of K9 Chase)

Chapter 4: The Rescue of a Moderately Important Person

A/N: Surprise, surprise! I really want to complete this story, so... Why not?

Zuma's POV

Life in Merton was pretty good until Katie came. Princess and I had gotten a lot closer, and every time she was close, my heart went into overdrive. Anyway, when Ryder yelled for Marshall and Miracle, I was in a heated make-out session with Princess.

I'm just kidding. Hehe... But I wish that I was!

Anyway, I just followed the crowd of pups bounding for the garage, only to find that Chase was laying unconscious on the floor with a nasty gash on his shoulder. Ouch.

Skye was of course super worried. It was at those times that I just wished that they would start dating, like come on! How do you not know that you both like each other?

Anyway, Marshall and Miracle nursed Chase to the point where we could safely bring him to the veterinary clinic. 

The X-Ray found that Chase luckily hadn't broken anything, although he did have a nasty wound. He was stitched up, given some pain killers, and it was decided that he would stay the night in the clinic. We slept in the clinic that night. The next day, he woke up, and seemed to be just fine, which was a relief.

We returned home that day and stayed in Merton, so that Chase could recover. Meanwhile, Ryder decided that we needed to go back and save Adventure Bay. Us pups agreed, but Chase was in no shape to do rescues, so Ryder decided that he should stay in Merton, and that he would hire a babysitter.

Chase woke up then, and looked really dizzy, but he could still talk. We told him about our plan.

"Ummm... I think that I should stay here in Merton. It's safe here, and you're going to need as many pups as possible for this rescue," Chase shakily said.

"But Chase, you're too weak to be alone right now," said Ryder.

Marshall and Miracle nodded. "You have lost a lot of blood, Chase," they said.

"I have hired a babysitter for you while we're gone, Chase. It will only be for two days, and we'll make sure to call you while we're there.

The next day, everyone woke up, ready for the rescue. Chase could at least walk now.

We all said our goodbyes to Chase. Marshall, Skye, and Ryder took a notably longer time than all the others, but they were just closer to Chase I guess.

When we were back in the bus, Ryder said that we had to find Katie first, before rescuing anyone else. No one was surprised about that. But we all cared deeply about Katie, so we didn't complain. 

"Ok, so we know that Humdinger has Katie," I said.

The pups and Ryder nodded in agreement.

"We also know about Humdinger Robotics, so we should also try to stop them from making new robots," Rocky said. "Hopefully I can also recycle stuff that we find there."

Ryder chuckled. "Rocky..."

For the rest of the ride, we discussed how we would liberate Adventure Bay. This was our plan:

1. Find Katie and rescue her

2. Bring Katie back to Merton and pick up Chase

3. Go back to Adventure Bay and destroy Humdinger Robotics

4. Free all Citizens from Humdinger

5. Arrest Mayor Humdinger for attempted murder

When we arrived in Adventure Bay it was already quite late. We decided to Skype with Chase to make sure that everything was fine in Merton, since it had been a couple of hours since we had been in contact with him.
