Humdinger Strikes Again (Second Part of K9 Chase)

Chapter 2: Banished

Third Person POV

It was 6:00 a.m. in the morning but no one had slept anywhere in Adventure Bay... except for Mayor Humdinger, his cats, and some babies. No one liked or voted for Mayor Humdinger, so why did he win the election?

All of the pups and Ryder were eating breakfast except for Skye. Skye was in her pup house thinking about things. She had spent the whole night thinking about what was going to happen to Adventure Bay now that Mayor Humdinger was the Mayor. But now it was time to tackle her love life.

Skye POV

Now that we have Adventure Bay, there's no point in being together with Dale anymore. Plus, he isn't a very nice person on the inside. All he does is brag about how strong he is. All I wanted was love, but have I ever really felt it? This relationship with Dale doesn't feel like it is based on true love, just desperation. Our relationship was really just a fling, anyway. He's going to leave Adventure Bay after the summer, possibly for good. But then where will I be? Just a third wheel while all of my friends fall in love with each other. Why did I distance myself from Chase? We used to be such good friends and we could have been more... And now he doesn't like me anymore.

I sigh and walk out of my pup house. It may be the last time I'll sleep in it. The song 'These Days' is playing on repeat in my head as I go into the lookout.

A/N: The song doesn't really make sense in this situation but I just love it.

Everyone tiredly says good morning as I enter. Well, except for Chase. Where is he anyway?

"Pups, we should probably say goodbye to everyone before... you know what..."

"Yeah that sounds like a good idea," Rocky says.

"I don't want to leave!" Rubble yells and starts crying.

"Rubble, you can come with me," Ryder says.

Katie comes in and hugs us all, then she gives Ryder a kiss on the cheek. Ryder's cheeks turn redder than Marshall's Fire Truck. Marshall and Zuma both say: "OOOOOOOOOHH!!!" In unison.

Us pups laugh. Even Rubble.

After we stop laughing Katie says: "I'll come and visit you guys as soon as possible!"

We all hug again.

"Alrighty then, I'm going to go drive around Adventure Bay and say goodbye to everyone," Marshall says.

Then everyone else leaves as well. I go to Dale's place to say goodbye to him. I open the door and see Dale's room, empty. There is a photo roll on his desk. It is him with another dog. They kiss in the picture. There is a date on the back. The photos were taken yesterday.

I can't believe what I'm seeing. All this time, I was his side chick? I don't even cry. We never had true love anyway... I leave without trying to find out where Dale is. Although it is probably with that girl in the pictures.

When I get back to the lookout Mayor Humdinger is there.

Chase, who has returned, growls. "What do you want?!"

Did I mention how strong he looks, and handsome too... Oh no, am I falling again?

"Oh, I just wanted to remind you that you have to leave Adventure Bay in an hour. Hehehehehehehe!" Mayor Humdinger says.

Pups in the future POV

Chase: "I hated Mayor Humdinger SO MUCH!!!"

Pups and Ryder: "Couldn't agree more!"
