STARING AT THE SUN
CHAPTER 12
BELLA P.O.V
The first week of college went by without any issues. Classes had started in full swing and I already felt like I had so much work to do. But thankfully, I had more than one day to do each assignment. I only had 2 classes a day. But each class was an hour and a half long. One was at 10am and the other was at 2pm. Usually in between classes I would either do homework and study, eat, or take a nap.
The second week of college, I turned 19. Dad had sent a care package with some money, tons of snacks and candy and a foam covering for my super uncomfortable mattress. Embry was distracting me all day long. He even treated me to lunch.
"So, what are you planning?" I asked as we walked around campus. Jacob had called me earlier in the morning to wish me a happy birthday but I hadn't heard from him since then. I could tell Embry was hiding something from me.
"Nothing." He shrugged. I knew that they had to have been planning something.
"Just tell me." I begged. I hated surprises.
"It will be here soon." He said which made my eyes widen.
"Oh god. What did you do?" I asked suddenly nervous. I did not want to make a big deal about my birthday. Hell even my roommate said happy birthday and then moved on. Maybe she was in on the secret.
"I didn't do anything. Will you relax?" He asked. Eventually we stopped and got a coffee. This time I treated him since he bought us lunch. We often had lunch or dinner together. Usually it was in one of our dorms and we were heating up frozen dinners. Sometimes we went to the dining hall for food but usually our roommates would join us.
When we stepped out of the coffee shop that was on my campus, I did a quick scan of the walk way to make sure there wasn't going to be a flash mob or something. Instead, I found Jacob leaning against a pillar and smiling at me.
"Jacob!" I shouted and took off running to his open arms. I only tripped over my own feet once. I jumped into his arms as he lifted me off the ground.
"I can tell you're not wearing a bra." He laughed as he held me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked avoiding his statement about my boobs all together.
"Came to celebrate with you. Figured I could stay the night." He shrugged smiling. "Embry is having a party in his dorm." He continued.
"I knew he had something planned." I huffed. Embry seemed pretty proud of himself as we walked back to my dorm.
"I'm gonna take you to dinner and then we'll go to the party." I did not want to go to this party but Jacob had been begging me all summer to take him to a college party. I'm sure he meant at one of the frat houses but so far we hadn't gone to any frat houses. I'm sure eventually Embry or Maya would drag me to one.
We headed up to my dorm room so we could spend a little time alone. Maya hadn't been around all day so we had the room to ourselves. Jacob was laying flat on his back on my bed while I was sitting leaning against the wall with my legs resting over his stomach. He slowly ran his finger from my ankle up to my thigh.
"How has classes been?" He asked moving his other hand to hold my neck.
"Good. Lots of work. I have an essay due at midnight on Tuesday." I commented. I was halfway through with it and was going to get some of it done today but leaving it for another day wouldn't be the end of the world. "It's much more fun than high school."
