STARING AT THE SUN
CHAPTER 8
BELLA P.O.V
Graduation was upon us. It felt weird having both of my parents standing in my house taking pictures. Billy and Jacob were also here. My mom loved seeing Jacob again and was glad to hear that we were still together.
"Are we ready?" Dad asked. I nodded as I grabbed my cap and gown and we headed to the school. Mom and Phil rode in a rental car behind Charlie's cruiser. I held Jacob's warm hand as we walked into the school. Our course the weather didn't hold out so we could have it outside. Not that I minded.
"I'll see you after." He leaned down to kiss my cheek before meeting back up with our parents. I walked to where the students were lining up and got in my spot. Graduation felt like any other day. What it really felt like, was one day closer to college. One day closer to leaving Forks. One day closer to leaving Jacob behind.
Walking across the stage felt like a relief. Of course I could hear Charlie and Jacob screaming over everyone else as my name was called. And when everyone was finally back in their seats, we stood, moved our tassel, and threw our caps up.
I hugged Jessica and Angela before Jacob came up and lifted me into his arms. I giggled wrapping mine around him and kissed him.
"Congratulations, Honey." He held me tight. I could hear my parents talking behind us but all I could see was his face smiling at me.
Eventually he put me down and we all took tons of pictures. Me and dad. Me and mom. Me, mom and Phil. Me, Jacob, and Billy. Me and Jake. Then eventually my friends made their way over so we could all take pictures with our parents snapping pictures.
We would be heading to the diner after this but then there was going to be a party down on the beach that I invited my friends to.
"We'll see you later right?" Angela asked from Ben's arms.
"Yes." I smiled at her. "I'm going out to dinner and then I'll be there." I answered as Jacob came over and slid his arm around my waist, pulling me against his chest and kissing my head.
"Okay, we'll see you." She smiled waving as they walked away. Dad was admiring my diploma when we walked over to them.
"I'm starving." I commented to him. Phil and my mom were standing behind him, Billy was beside dad waiting for the word on when we were going to eat. "To the diner?" I asked.
"Of course." He answered. "Proud of you, Bells." He smiled giving me a hug.
"Thanks, Dad." I smiled, heading to the cars. We decided to ride to the diner with my mom and Phil since they didn't know where they were going. Charlie followed behind us with Billy. Jacob held the door of the diner open for all of us. We had made reservations last week so our table was all ready for us with another table pushed up against it so we could all fit.
I sat in the corner like I always did with Jacob beside me. Dad sat next to me on my right, then it was Billy across from me. Mom sat across from Jacob and Phil sat on the end across from dad.
"Don't be upset, but I have a surprise for you." Dad said grinning at me. I internally groaned. We agreed on no surprises. Of course I kinda knew that none of them would listen to what I said. "But it's not until after dinner."
"Oh great." So I got to worry all through dinner. We all ordered our food before mom spoke up.
"Do you have plans for anything tonight?" She asked.
