Chapter 18

The Summer sun trickled through the thin curtains. I rubbed my eyes to see Regulus sitting on the patio, his long lean back bent over a book. He could have been part of a painting in that moment. His shaggy black hair haloed by the pastel greens of the rolling French fields. He looked... angelic. So different from that moping boy I had chosen back at school. The darkness that haunted him was lifted here. I never thought I'd like to see him this happy, this at ease. I lifted the duvet, letting the sun warm my skin. It felt euphoric. I stood up and made my way to the open glass double doors. The floating white curtain tickled my arms as I exited into the warm breeze. I lowered my arms around him from behind, bending down to nestle my chin into his shoulder as he leaned back into me. My fingers gently rubbed against his bare chest as he tilted his head to place small kisses onto my temple. He dropped his book, his hands placing themselves over mine. I lifted myself from him to walk around his chair. He wasn't surprised at my nudity, we had hardly got dressed the past three days, but his eyes widened with something else. He reached his hands out for me, a soft smile growing on his lips. I took a step forward, allowing his grabbing hands to grip onto my hips and pull me onto him. My legs spread for him, my breasts pressing into his chest as he brought us together. He didn't kiss me, he just stared as his hands wrapped around me. Half his face glowed a glorious yellow, while the other was smothered in my shadow.

"We could stay." He whispered gently, unable to remove his eyes from mine.

"I thought about it." I couldn't believe I wasn't lying. I wished in that moment I could give it to him, let him forget me and leave him there. He could glow gloriously forever. "He'd find us." I lifted my hands to his cheeks, my fingers delicately tracing over every inch of his face. I was in too deep to stop swimming now, and I couldn't do it without him. I didn't want to do it without him. I was going to make him live in the chill of my shadow, but I was proud of him for making me question it. 

I pressed my lips against his, rolling my hips and pushing my body into him making him open his mouth slightly as I took his breath away. As I felt him grow hard beneath me I moved my lips, leaning in to bite his earlobes. I inhaled sharply as he lifted my hips before slowly lowering my body onto him. Somehow my stomach still burned each time I felt him inside of me. As he guided my hips I lifted my head to see him. His eyes looked down, watching himself entering and exiting me. I lowered my hands around his neck, gripping softly as I pushed his chin back up to me. His eyes met mine, his mouth opening at the sight of me riding him, surrounded by sunlight and the flower-scented golden air. I looked at my hands, the hands of a murderer, as they cupped his throat. He was such a beautiful boy, and I had him so perfectly in my grasp. I squeezed, making him only thrust faster upwards into me. He watched as my mouth opened, my whimpers only invigorating him further. He leaned forward to kiss my breasts as I tilted my head back. I watched the wispy clouds swimming above us as his tongue circled my nipples. His mouth was so warm and loving, pairing perfectly with the harshness of how he drove himself  into me. I let my moans turn my lips into a smile as I came, my fingers feeling his pulse go into overdrive. I sat down fully as he finished, letting his whole body crumple under me. His arms clung onto me as he vibrated inside of me. I leaned down to kiss his neck, seeing a slight bruise already forming.

"What a perfect ending to our little adventure." I whispered as his chest heaved up and down. That could have been our forever ending, if only I wasn't so selfish.
