TW!! violence and mention of suicide

"I'm sorry." I stated as I looked down at him, a foot either side of his heaving chest. I swiped my wand above his throat, watching as the thin red line followed across his skin. His hands flew up, trying to stop the blood pouring from his neck. I saw a flicker of detestable anger in his eyes.

"You're right." I smiled. "No I'm not." I stood over him as I watched him die. The Dark Lord had said I'd feel something, but it was the opposite. There was absolute nothingness. As he went limp all I could wonder was what it was like, to feel all the warmth leave your body. I leaned down, poking his cheek with my wand. He looked peaceful to me, a part from the large pool of blood. Some people live to avoid death, or some live looking for it. This man looked for it, and I needed my first kill. We were meant for each other. I waved my wand over to the kitchen.

"Wingardium leviosa." I whispered, slowly bringing the kitchen knife over to land in his bloodied hand. Such a shame, I thought to myself, suicide really is an epidemic. I grinned, turning to leave but deciding to go back to the chest I had rummaged through earlier. I collected all the photos of the Beauxbaton girls, my stomach twisting as I noticed the moving images secretly taken of two girls we'd recruited the day before on our mission. The muggle police from this small French town couldn't find out about the wizarding school, and beyond that those girls didn't need any more unwanted male eyes on them. I hurried out of the small, crooked house. Regulus was waiting obediently around the corner. He didn't like being away from home, so the whole mission had been rather stressful for him.

"There you are!" He hissed, but his actions didn't match his tone as he brought me into his arms tightly. "Did you get whatever you were looking for?" He asked, constantly looking around the dark streets, almost jumping at his own shadow.

"All done." I smiled. "Just needed to check something."

"Ok, well let's go home." Regulus huffed. I lifted my hand to his cheek, trying to get him to focus on me rather than the eery creaking of the wind.

"Why don't we take the train somewhere first? At least for a few days?" I rubbed my thumbs along the edge of his jawbone.

"Eloise-"

"We could go South..." I bit my lip. "Just us two, in a little cabin surrounded by vineyards and-" Regulus lowered himself, pushing his lips onto mine. I smiled into the kiss as his arms swooped around my lower back, pulling me up to him.

"Sounds romantic right?" I grinned. Regulus sighed, defeated. Poor boy could never win against me.

"Two days, that's it." I would make it three. Three was all I needed. I knew the Dark Lord would find out about my extra activity on this mission, so I wanted him to have to wait for me. I wanted him to wonder where I was. I wanted him to wonder what Regulus and I were doing wherever we were. I knew he'd find out about Professor Devlin's out-of-class interests and that he'd use that to demean my actions. He wasn't an innocent, but a girl has to start somewhere.
