I trekked up the hill, the winter sun kissing my face as the house opened up in front of me, surrounded by the picturesque hills. I walked through to see those billowing curtains, stopping for a moment at the bedside table, seeing the envelope I'd left in the debris of the burned down cottage. I opened it up to pick up the pocket watch I'd placed inside. He'd done well. I stepped out into the garden to see him sitting there, his long hair flowing in the breeze. I stepped behind him, my heart swelling at the sight of his long pale torso as I reached out to wrap my arms around him.

"I knew you would figure it out." He whispered as I walked around to place myself down in front of him, my hands sliding across his cheeks to cup his face, fearful of letting go.

"Sorry I'm late." I lowered myself onto him, letting the warmth of his body encompass and overwhelm me. My lips tingled as I kissed his neck, his smell filling my nose and the taste of his skin making me hold him even tighter. I looked up at him, grinning as his long arms tangled us together. He lowered his mouth to mine, my lips parting desperately to welcome his tongue. His hands wandered down the seams of my trousers and up the back of my shirt, his fingertips smooth and gentle against my skin.

"I'm sorry." He whispered down at me, his face haloed by his billowing black hair. "I couldn't tell you, Eloise. You needed to have the choice, I needed to know you-"

"I know." I lifted myself to litter his face with small kisses. "I'm so proud of you." I whispered, my thumbs running from his cheeks to his pink lips.

"I saw you." His hands gripped my wrist, bringing each of my fingers to his lips for their own little pecks. "With my brother."

"I know." I giggled as his lips lowered over my pinky finger, his tongue running down it.

"I saw you with him too." His face darkened slightly, as if a shadow was cast over just him, draining the life-force of blood from his cheeks. I lifted myself up, my hands gently holding his face to mine.

"I know. I'm sorry Regulus, but burning down the cottage was the only way I could think of to get your attention-"

"It's ok, my love it's ok." He pulled me in, pressing our noses together. "I knew you would come back to me. I knew there'd be a message in the ashes. I just hated watching the way he looked at you, seeing you two-"

"Regulus, look at me." I smiled. "It didn't take losing you for me to realise, I already knew it was you. It was always going to be you, but I just needed..." I could see the darkness covering his skin again. "I hadn't taken all I could from him yet." He nodded.

"We don't have to keep fighting." He whispered, his fingers rubbing up and down my spine. "We could just disappear."

My sweet boy, my lovely lovely boy. I couldn't hide my grin. His smile grew as we silently agreed our future, both of us looking out onto the rolling hills, our minds already travelling around the world at all the places we will go. I felt his hands run over the pocket watch in my pocket, but he knew well enough by now not to ask. I wouldn't hide mine somewhere, as Tom stupidly had with his, and I would never make another. Not only had he inadvertently taught me how to make a horcrux and then gifted me the murder of my father, but he taught me the detriment of greediness. I lifted it out of my pocket, and placed it into the front pocket of Regulus' shirt. Who else would do a better job at keeping it safe until it is required, until the war is over and I can take over from where he left. Regulus smiled, looking at me with a slight nod. I lifted myself off him, standing for a moment before I started lifting my shirt over me head. As I finally removed my underwear and left myself naked for him I met his eyes, his beautiful wide rabbit eyes.

Time to hide. Time to lie in wait.
