Chpt 27-

courtney' pov

"I'm sorry Carter she's not home." I heard my mom say for the second time today. Then the door shut and he was gone again. It's Sunday today and tomorrow is school. Only one more month then it's summer break.

After he dropped me off my phone wouldn't shut up. Missed calls, texts , voicemails.

Everything hurt I guess. I haven't gotten out of bed since. Laying here and staring at the blank TV wasn't helping.

Knock- knock

My head shot straight up and my nerves began growing. "Go away." I yelled assuming it and was Carter. I thought she kicked him out, I told her to keep him out.

"Courtney it's Emily." My nerves quickly dropped and my swung my sheets away from me and to get up. I approached my door and opened it to see Emily. She embraced me in a hug and that's exactly what I needed.

"You don't understand how happy I am to see you." I blurted out as he backed out of the hug. She nodded and smiled at me. "What's wrong your mom seemed cautious." Emily said as he took a seat on my bed. I criss-crossed my legs and she laid back.

"Oh um nothing." I said trying to avoid having a conversation right now. She shook her head and sat up.

"What's wrong." Right then and there j broke down. My tears were coming out like a river. Everything hurt and I couldn't control it. I haven't admitted it but I'm more than sure that I'm in love with the boy.

"It's okay, everything going to be okay." Emily kept repeating as she hugged me comforting.

"Maggie?" Emily said after I finished telling her the whole story. "Yah I think that's what I heard." I said trying to remember the girls name on the other end of the line. She shook her head and looked down.

"Wow, I don't know what to say." She said touching my shoulder then bringing me in for a hug. "Wonna go get something to eat ?" She asked as she pulled away from the hug.

"Will that be all?" I heard the cashier say as Emily payed the man. We sat down and waited for both of our coffees. We decided to not eat but just get a coffee. We took a seat at a chair.

I needed to get out of that house. This felt really good for now.

"Wouldn't expect to see you guys here." His voice said as I opened my eyes which I closed to see Damian. He had a cup in his hands and his other hand was stuffed into his pocket. Emily looked to me and I shrugged , not really caring if he was here.

"Hey Damain." Emily trailed off , relaxing a bit in her chair as well.

"Hey Em," he said as he scratched the back of his neck. "You alright Courtney?" He asked extending his neck towards me.

I nodded my head and looked away, as my eyes got watery. "Look Courtney I know we're not on good terms but if you need me, as-- as a friend I'm here." He said , as I nodded my head. I got up out of my chair gave him a quick hug, so did Emily and we both walked out of the coffee shop.
