Caught Coming Home

"Peter, it's been a long day", Ned said as he sat in the safety of his room on coms with Peter. "It's already midnight, you should go to bed".

Peter swung high in the air. He was swinging to the tower. When Peter got to the tower, he clung onto the side of the tower & started to quietly crawl up to his window, evading the sight of anyone that could've been inside.

"Fine, Ned, I'm going to bed", Peter said as he stopped at his window & peeked in. His room was pitch black, but Peter could see clear as day into the room, nobody was inside & nothing was out of the usual. "I'll see you at school tomorrow, Ned".

"See ya", Ned said.

"Night", Peter said as the connection on the coms were cut off. Peter reached up & turned his com off & then reached for his window.

He pushed it up, but the window wouldn't budge. Peter tried again with more strength, but it was locked.

"Who locked my window", Peter wondered? He searched his mind, trying to recall if he had locked his door, or maybe remember when someone could have. Then it hit him, when his family helped him prepare for his date, he saw his father, Tony, walking away from his window. "Great".

Peter looked to the ground below, he leaped, jumping towards the ground, diving head first.

He shot a web & flung him through the air. He swung around the building & landed in the valley behind the tower.

"This is always the weirdest part", Peter said as he slapped the spider emblem on his chest & his suit dropped off of his body & to the ground.

He left his mask on until he pulled his clothes over his body. Still, he looked around, ducted behind a dumpster & removed his mask.

He shoved his suit into the bag & walked out of the alley. He walked to the front entrance & proceeded in. Peter kept his head down, but his eyes were wide & on high alert.

He walked to the elevator & swiped his keycard. His keycard allowed him access to all of the tower.

The elevator doors opened & Peter lifted his foot to step inside, but someone grabbed his shoulder & stopped him.

"Peter", Tony asked? He spun the boy around, revealing his son's face. "Peter, what are you doing"?

Peter kept quiet & evaded his eyes from his father as they stepped into the elevator & took it up.

"Do you know what time it is", Tony asked as the elevator doors shut? He checked his watch & saw that it was past midnight. "Why were you sneaking in after midnight? Where were you all this time"?

"I-I was with MJ", Peter lied. He sighed. "I didn't mean to stay out so late, we were watching a movie, & we fell asleep, I left right after I woke up... well I woke MJ up before I left, but I left immediately after that".

"So you were at MJ's", Tony asked? "If I call MJ's mom, will she tell me the same thing"?

"MJ's mom works third shift, Three p.m. to One a.m., but she knows I was there, MJ called her mom", Peter said without lying, Michelle's mom worked those hours. Peter & Michelle talked about an excuse, Michelle knows her mom wouldn't be home when they get out of school & that's when Peter goes patrolling as Spider-man, so Peter & Michelle agreed that if he gets caught, Peter should say that he was at Michelle's house.

"Just get to bed", Tony said as the elevator doors opened. Peter started walking to his bedroom as Tony spoke again, "Don't let it happen again, or next time you will be in serious trouble".
