One of the spikes of the black bushes contained a body that was pierced through. Dark red blood painted it and is dripping down onto the ground, making mini puddles. Eyes soon opened slowly.
"Nngh...huh, oh great...I'm stabbed. But I can bleed? Oh, ohhhhh. So this is what my bitchy mentor was talking about. Oh great...I will have to use my afterlife life force to heal this before I bleed to my second death and not be able to...leave. Damn it Tristian." Yes, this is Cyrus right now. What he is explaining is the second death.
It's a bit complicated for some but here is the general explanation and idea of it. Basically, after you die, your human body stays in the casket while your soul travels to the waiting room for Purgatory. While you are going there, you will be given a new body but still with the same style as your had before at the time of your death.
There is no connection between the two bodies.
Think of it as another life, but in the afterlife. You can eat, sleep, use the restroom, things like that. But that also means, you can die again. The reason for the body is because of a rare opportunity that can give you just one chance at life again. Meaning, if you pass and go live out the life you wanted as much as you can, when you die again you are a ghost and soul forever. Unless of course, you have been blessed by God to have yet another chance. No one has gotten to that point. At least, not yet.
Everyone has a life force if you are not a ghost. If you are injured or about to die, you can use it to heal you. But with a consequence. Either the part of your body that was used to heal or any part that is chosen, will appear a bit faint, like a painting. And take a form of a ghost's appearance. That's the explanation and it's what Cyrus is facing right now.
He took a deep breath and grabbed the side of a spike with one hand. While his free hand is positioned at his wound. In three counts, Cyrus lifted himself up with a scream of pain and quickly pushed some of his life force out to heal and close it up. He soon moved away and landed on the ground. Soon, the left hand, along with the wrist. that he used to heal flickered and started to dim out in terms of appearance. Taking on the ghostly look.
Cyrus soon started to feel tired. But he refused to let himself go to sleep. He has to catch up with Tristian and tell him that Cyrus had no idea about his aunt killing his late fiancée. He cares about Tristian too much to let their friendship be ruined. Especially like this. To him, friendship is more important than anything. They're friends first before partners.
"I will even say that he is my best friend before 'partner'." Cyrus muttered out loud to himself. He tried to stand up but then immediately fell, he hissed in pain and looked down to finally notice that his leg is all messed up and probably loose. Fuck.
Tristian was that mad?!
Cyrus saw that the wall is farther away, at least from the ground. This is about to be such a pain.
Two hours later...
He just barely made it a quarter away from his starting point. Cyrus is in pain and he's tired, he is especially worried about Tristian's well-being despite the boy being the reason he is in this situation in the first place.
"Fuck...Fuck...I hate being so helpless." Cyrus whispered out, fighting back tears. It has been known for a long time that Cyrus absolutely despises having to ask for help or even be in a positive of needing help in the first place.
But he quickly had to wipe them away when he saw black boots coming towards them. His eyes looked up and squinted for a bit before widening quickly. No this can't be...not now. Please. Oh shit...
There in front of him, is Zeldris. Who is Tristian's father.
Cyrus just lays there, giving up. Zeldris saw him and grinned. "You seem like someone who might know my son. Do you know where he is?" Cyrus glared and scowled at him. "Why should I tell you? Even if I do know, at the end of the day, I don't know or trust you." Zeldris stared at him with his black eyes for a while before shrugging and letting a small smirk grace his lips.
"Alright, then I will settle for you then. Be ready...here I come now."
