"I'm sorry about what happened that day. I'm sure Mikey didn't mean to upset you." Donnie says.

A few days passed since that incident with Mikey, and today's training is with Donnie. Apparently his constant thinking is getting in the way of him becoming a better fighter when it comes to close combat.

Y/n, on the other hand, moves a lot by instinct, so until she's better at ninjutsu, Splinter thought that it wouldn't hurt to let her still use her skills in certain trainings.

"It's okay. He was curious, I get it. I also assume you are all curious about my past."

Donnie frowns after he blocked her punch.

"It's just... Look, you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but... Just to make things clear... Don't you trust us?"

Her eyes widen a bit before she looks down. "... That's not it." She lets out a sigh. "It's just... I didn't have the chance to heal that wound with another family. Not the way Master Splinter did. He was fortunate to find another family, but I didn't have that same luck. My uncle and I are the last ones of our clan, and... Everything that happened that night..." She starts shaking involuntarily. "It still haunts me... I can't sleep because of it... That's why I trained in so much different martial arts. I wanted to be stronger in order to protect the only family I have left."

She takes a deep breath before rubbing her arm where some of the scars are. "These scars... Talking about them reminds me of what happened back then... Of how weak and useless I was... I couldn't help anyone... My uncle lost his sight protecting me, and even my cousin that managed to get us out of there shared the same fate of my other relatives... I..." Her voice cracks as she starts crying.

"Oh, no. Y/n... Y/n, please don't cry." Donnie says as he

"I couldn't do anything! They're all dead and I could do nothing but watch!" She shouts as she grabs her head and starts shaking it.

"Hey, what's goin' on?!" Raph askes as hs enters the dojo.

"Donnie, what are you doing? Did you make her cry?!" Leo askes as he walks up to the other two, Donnie's hand on Y/n's shoulder.

"I-I didn't mean to, I swear! But she started talking about her past and started crying like this."

"Y/n? Hey, come on, now. It's okay. You'll be okay." Leo says as he tries to calm her.

"I just... *Sob* I just don't want it to happen again... I can't go through it... Not again..." She mumbles.

"Ya can't do what?"

"I-I... *Sniff* I can't lose anyone else again..." She falls on her knees as she keeps crying and crying. "I lost *sob* everyone I ever cared about that day and I just *sob* I-I don't want it to happen again... I-I'm afraid that one day I'll wake up and find out that everyone who is important to me is g-gone and I couldn't do anything to stop it... I... *Sob* I don't want to be left all alone..." She keeps crying her eyes out as she hugs her knees and buries her head on her arms.

The three brothers share worried glances before Leo kneels down and lays a hand on her shoulder. "Hey... It's okay. You don't have to worry about that, alright? And you know why?"

She raises her head on a way that they can only see her eyes, which are all red and puffy. "*Sniff* No..."

"Because you've got us now. Right, guys?" Leo askes as he turns to the others.

"R-Right. We're all here for you, Y/n. You're not alone." Donnie says as he also kneels down to her level. "If you need us, we'll be right here."

"*Sniff* You mean it?"

"Of course. You are our friend, so we care about you. So we'll never leave you alone."

She smiles weakly and nods before hugging Leo. "Thanks guys."

"Anytime." He says as he hugs her back tightly.

Little did they know that Mikey was seeing the whole thing from afar and only felt more guilty. If he only knew her past still hurts her and even haints her that much, he wouldn't have asked anything on the first place.

He wants to make things right with her amd show her that she can also count on him.

#A.N.: Ngl, I totally forgot about this story. I got so focused on my main ones that I left my other stories aside. Hopefully I can get back to them, slow and steady.
