She's gonna When JC returned beads of sweat lined his forehead. But that was where the visible differences stopped. So maybe the eternal ones weren't the worst.

Her "talk" coulnd't have been that traumatizing... right?

"What did she say?" I questioned as soon as he pulled the chair out beside me.

"Aw, nothing."

oh god.

I cocked an eyebrow and studied him for red flags.

"What did she say." I pressed.

His face clenched. Was it worry? Anxiety... maybe?

Unlike most people to me Jc was hard to read. Jc was... different.

I- I cam't tell you."

I shook my head, anger pounding in my ribs, begging to be let loose.

'It's an A day right?" I asked

"Yes, why?"

"I need to talk to her." I spat

I opened the heavy door, peering around the corner to the attendant.

"Heeeey bud..."

He only glowered down at me in response.

"Could I like... skedaddle?" I waved forty bucks in front of him.

"No, you were spotted last time, I cant have you jeopardize my job... KID." He did't even try to sound like he cared... at all.

**

I tugged my fear away, I could do it. I would be a hero right? Plus, jc wasn't going to tell me anything anyway so this was the last option. And even so, how would the authorities even catch me or know it was me for that matter?

My gut said no but my hand said yes, As I pulled down the fire alarm.

Immediately lights and sirens began to wail ominously.

I ran towards Elise's classroom, dodging through herds of hysterical kids pouring out of the building.

When I spotted the trademark, maroon beanie I yelled, "Hey! Elise."

She whirled around the hallway, looking for me. I groaned impatiently and continued up towards her.

"Hey!" She  howled, "What the hell are you doing?! This wasn't a planned drill, so why the HELL are you going the wrong way you dumb ass." She clung to my arm, dragging me along with her to the exit.

"Because I pulled the alarm." I answered simply.

"Ha Ha, Now come on."  She replied sarcastically

"No, really. I have to talk to you,"

After we had exited the building we found refuge in the bleachers beside the football field. The cold stung my bare arms, but I had to figure out what she had said to him.

"I want to know what you said to Jc." I tried to sound menacing but her knowing smile she always wore made it difficult.

"I just ,made the usual threats."  She knit her eyebrows and used her male-mocking-voice. "If you hurt her I'll kick the shit out of you." She giggled before continuing. "but I know that there's something off about Jc. So I furthered it a tiny bit. I just added that I own several cutting tools and I also know several ways to dispose of a body."

**

New message: Hey, you free tonight?"

Sent: Nope.

I looked up from my phone and glanced through out the lunchroom. It surprised  me he still wanted to talk since his "Chat" with Elise.

New message: Wanna come over tonight? I've got Netflix!

I looked around the room again, this time I found him. he was surrounded by lemmings begging for his attention but he was smiling, curled around his phone.

sent: You bet!

So I guess I hadn't scared him off... yet.

**

"Come in!" He leaned his head out from the kitchen and smiled as I let myself in. I plopped down on his couch tiredly. I hadn't bothered with getting dressed so I had just worn my pajamas. And it looked as though Jc had the same idea, his boxers were the only thing covering him. But hey... I didn't mind.

Jc shuffled back into the living room, balancing two Arizona's and a big bowl of popcorn in his hands.

"So you want to go on a Netflix binge... right?" He asked.

"You know me too well." I giggled and took a handful of popcorn. He plopped down beside me.

"Do I" He winked coyly at me before he covered us in a fuzzy blanket.

if this could be classified as our first date... it was glorious. Jc yawned and stretched out his arms, scooting one over my shoulders. Man, that was one of the oldest tricks in the book. He then grabbed the remote from the coffee table and began flipping through Disney movies.

"That one! That one!' I pointed excitedly at the screen.

"Up?" he questioned teasingly.

"Yeah!" I stared at the screen.

"Okay I guess." he chuckled and started the movie.

"this movie has the most legit love story in it since fox and the hound."  I sighed. "Its's even better than the Notebook. I gazed up at Jc, who already had his eyes on me, I could tell he was disgusted.

"Really? That's why you wanted to watch this one?"

"Yeah......" I broke eye contact, embarrassment taking over.

"You're so cute." He clutched me tighter and snuggled his face into  my neck.
