Would you do it?

If there was a way
To step out of your body,
To shed your skin and
To step away and
Look at yourself
Through a strangers eyes,
Would you do it?

You could know
How they judge you,
How they assess you,
How they pull you apart
Into a million pieces
And find faults within
Everything inside of you.

Would you look at yourself
Through a strangers eyes,
Who has never walked in your shoes,
Who has no idea about who you are
and the hardships that
You have gone through.

Would you look at yourself
Through a strangers eyes,
Who smiles at you in the face
And talk behind your back,
Who put on a façade and
praise you on your victories
But mocks you for your flaws
When you turn around.

Would you look at yourself
Through a strangers eyes,
Who calls you a friend by the day
And plots against you by dusk.
Who only find the faults and flaws
And not the light and worth in you.

You could know
How they twist your story
Into something that
Even you yourself
Won't be able to recognize.
How they turn your world
Upside down with a single word.

If there was a way
To step out of your body,
To look at yourself
Through a strangers eyes,
Just to standby and
Watch them mangle you,
Would you do it?
