the timelines are gonna be a little wonky, and some things i say about jayson may or may not be true . it's just for the storyline

jayson's pov

i was alone , the result of a decision i made late night on a whim. i was on an island i've never been to, where i knew no one, on a trip with virtually no preparation.

this is stupid to some, maybe. it sure sounds like it to me, but at the same time, it feels liberating to be free and do what i want to do sometimes. i refuse to spend forever being told what to do.

like most people, i've always wanted to go to bora bora, but i never really got around to it. i decided that i would stop putting stuff of because tomorrow is never promised.

since i thought about it so much, you'd think i would have been more prepared, but we're here, so now what?

i didn't feel out of place , but at the same time i did. there were tourists all over the place who also didn't live here , but i was the odd one out because i was obviously was a bit confused.

"hey, excuse me," i heard somebody call from behind me . i turned around to be met with a gorgeous woman. she was in normal clothes, but had a bikini in her arms. "not to be nosey , but you look lost. do you mind if i help you?"

"uh, yeah, i am a bit lost, but it's fine. it's a long story." i scratched the back of my neck, suddenly getting embarrassed of my negligence.

even though, i must admit, she was gorgeous , i couldn't trust her too much. that's how they get you.

"are you sure?" she made sure, and she looked genuine. or maybe that's just what i wanted to believe deep down.

fuck it, nah I ain't sure.  so much for the "i couldn't trust her"

i was on this completely out of the blue trip, why not . she could be apart of a murder ring, but there's only one, very unsafe, way to find out. "actually, yeah looks like i do need help."

"i have nothing to do, i'll be your impromptu tour guide." she chuckled , extending her hand for me to shake, "but first, i'm keori."

"my name isn't all that , i' m jayson." i shook her hand.

"i like it." she smiled up at me.

my new friend and i sat at the quiet diner she recommended to start planning for this week.

"so, what's your budget?" she asked, wiping the corner of her mouth to get rid of the sauce.

"i don't have one, we can do whatever." i put my hands up, i was open to whatever.

"we?" keori scrunched her brows together. "i'm just planning , and taking you there , i'm not doing it." she chuckled.

"you're funny, anyway. yes, you are. you can't just tell me to do stuff you wouldn't do. i'm paying, don't worry about it."  i countered, i for sure wasn't doing all this on my own.

" i guess you're right about that part." she nodded , "for starters, i don't know if you want to start anything today , or get settled in for the night at wherever you booked. i know jet lag is probably kicking your butt right now."

i puckered my lips and squinted my eyes at her words, almost as if i was bracing for backlash.

"you did book a hotel," she began slowly, "....right?" she squinted her eyes to mirror mine.

"oops?" i grimaced.

"wow, okay. i guess." she shook her head in disbelief. "i didn't even notice, where's your luggage, besides those two duffel bags and backpack?"
