Mid took the drape from around his client's neck, shaking it off as he stood up, looking into the mirror, running his hand over his freshly cut hair. "Look like a new damn man," he said, rubbing his goatee."Yeah don't bring yo' ass back in my shop lookin' like that again," Mid joked, causing everyone else around them to laugh. Mid pulled out his phone, for the guy to insert his credit card into the card reader to make the payment.
"Preciate' bruh," he slapped hands with Mid, before walking towards the exit of the shop. Jaden came over with the broom and began to sweep, as Mid started cleaning up his area for the night. That was his last client of the night, and it was time for closing. The shop was pretty slammed due to super bowl weekend approaching.
He had no plans for the weekend, with the exception of being with his kids and going to his parents house. Since the birth of Millie, Mid found himself being content in the comfort of his home. He was a homebody, and enjoyed spending his time taking care of Millie or Jaden.
He didn't go out unless it was for the usual link up with his friends. But again, since they had their own lives and were busy, he spent most of his time alone. There were times that Mid yearned to have some type intimacy, he was ashamed to say that he did miss what Lotus and him shared. Whenever the two were together, she made him feel loved.
Mid finished cleaning up his station before heading back towards his office. He was tired and wanted nothing more than to just rest for the night. Before he could do that though, he would have to have his nightly phone call with Millie. He never went to sleep without seeing and hearing his daughter.
"Tedric?" he heard Tiny's voice call to him, as she entered the office behind him.
"Yeah?"
"I gotta leave a little early, apparently Ahmad's car broke down so I gotta go get him," Tiny rolled her eyes, annoyance filling the tone of her voice. Mid raised an eyebrow in confusion, but quickly caught on, trying to hold back his laugh. He knew that Gotti was simply taking his advice on doing something special for Tiny, never in a million of years would Gotti ask his girlfriend to pick him up. The first time that had actual happened, he called Mid to pick him up.
"Yikes," he said, putting away a few papers in the file cabinet. "That's tough, be safe."
Tiny started to walk out of the office but stopped, she turned around to face him again, watching as he continued cleaning off his desk. "You should go for it, you know?" she finally spoke again.
Mid paused, staring at her with a puzzled look. "What you mean?" he asked her, slowly stacking the books on top of each other.
"He told me about the girl you gave your number to," she told him, he dropped his head, slightly chuckling. "It's time for you to move on Tedric, you deserve to be happy too."
"What if I'm not ready yet?" he questioned, glancing back up at her.
"You are, you're just scared. Which is understandable, you were hurt by someone you really loved and you just don't want to misjudge someone like you did her." Tiny read him, feeling a little sad that he was still trying to heal from his relationship with Lotus. "No one can blame you for being cautious but—don't miss out on a chance at love because of what the last bitch did to you."
"I'm not ready for a relationship Tiny," Mid shrugged, wiping off the desk. Tiny slumped her shoulders, sighing in defeat. "I appreciate it though, enjoy the rest of your night."
Tiny remained quiet and turned to walk out of the office, leaving Mid to finish cleaning up his office. He knew that she was right, it was time for him to move on from the situation with Lotus, but it was easier said than done.
