A few days later, Mid was out with the boys for drinks. It had become a routine for them to get together during the weekday and have a few drinks. With the responsibilities that they had now, they tried keep each other in the loop of what was going on their lives.Even though Santos didn't have any kids of his own, or was expecting any, he had recently gotten into a new relationship. Often he'd be teased by Mid and Gotti, given that he wasn't much of the relationship type of guy—he very much preferred his freedom.
However, the girl that he was dating, had his head gone to say the least. They were happy that their friend finally had found love.
"She got you sprung, I ain't never hear you talk about a girl this much." Mid side-eyed Santos, a sly grin on his face as Gotti snickered.
"You just jealous cause you still single," Santos sucked his teeth, waving him off. Gotti began laughed harder, redirecting his attention back to Mid, waiting for his rebuttal.
"Nigga I'm content with being single, only girls I need in my life is my daughter and my mama." Mid replied, cutting into his steak. Santos sucked his teeth again, tapping Gotti on the arm, before pointing at Mid.
"Yeah right, every nigga need a li'l loving. Ole' girl may have been crazy but she made yo' ass happy, maybe you should hit her up." Santos joked, sharing a laugh with Gotti.
Mid rolled his eyes, "She dead to me," he mumbled, before stuffing the steak into his mouth. "Can we change the subject please?"
"A'ight my bad," Santos apologized, knowing the situation with Lotus was still touchy and struck a nerve. Shortly after she revealed that she had a hit put out on him, he became slightly obsessed with it. They watched before their eyes how the situation ate at him, he was genuinely hurt and betrayed by the fact the woman he fell in love with, tried to have him kill and then acted as if she was innocent.
"I need y'all advice," Gotti cleared his throat, grabbing his drink. Both Mid and Santos exchanged glances, with their eyebrows raised. "Stop lookin' at each other like that man, it's serious."
"What's wrong bruh?"
"Me and Tiny been having issues," he finally said, sitting his drink back down after sipping a little of it. "Lately we been arguing like a muhfucka, it's like every li'l thing I do sets her the fuck off, and that shit high-key becoming irritating."
"At first I would just brush it off as her hormones and shit because of the pregnancy, but I'm starting to feel like she's starting arguments wit' me on purpose. I be tryin' to avoid em', and it's like she force em'." he continued venting.
Both of the guys nodded their heads in understanding, listening to him. Mid licked over his lips, leaning back in the chair as he rested his hand on the table. "Well, have you tried talking to her about this? Like ask her what's going on?" he questioned him.
"I mean yeah, but she keep sayin' it's nothin'. I know it is though, otherwise we wouldn't be arguing all the time."
"Maybe she's scared," Santos suggested, shrugging his shoulders.
"Scared of what though?"
"Of you leaving," Mid answered him, "Pregnancy is a huge adjustment for a woman, their bodies be going through changes. I don't think you realize how that shit can affect them mentally and emotionally, everyone around them is always asking them baby related questions—but no one ever really ask the woman how she's doing. Also, she's probably scared that you may leave or don't find her attractive as when y'all first started dating."
"She knows I won't leave her, or that I'm still attracted to her—" Gotti started to say until Mid hummed, shaking his head.
"No bruh, women be wanting reassurance. She wants to hear you say it, do something special for her, let her know that she got you forever." Mid told him, picking up his utensils again.
