Levi rolled his wheelchair towards the window of his hotel. It'd been a few hours since Gabi and Falco left for lunch, he'd wondered what they were up to. What everyone was up to. Maybe he'd go on an adventure of his own, he thought. He gathered a coat and hat and rolled out his room, requiring some assistance from the stewards there. He'd asked them to tell Gabi and Falco of his whereabouts when they returned.
As he left the building, he began to admire the city that'd been built within only 4 years. Skyscrapers, cars, mansions, twice as many federal buildings as there were before. Despite him not liking his hometown all that much, he still was impressed by the scenery. If you'd have shown him what Eldia would like in 10 years, 10 years ago, he'd have never believed you. He rolled throughout the city with his chin held high, and the light wind breezing by his ears. After a good 15 minutes, he found himself in a different district with different architecture.
"This city is still filthy." He mumbled under his breath.
"Hey! Isn't that Levi Ackerman! Humanity's strongest soldier?" A stranger, in their midteens shouted from across the street.
"Shit." Levi mumbled to himself.
"Everyone look! Is it really you?" The boy said, running up and pointing at him.
"No. Not everyone in a wheelchair is a war hero." Levi remarked.
"IT REALLY IS YOU!" The boy shouted, jumping up and down. "I've read all about you in the 104th cadet corps' autobiographies! Armin Arlert's 'To You, 2,000 Years From Now,' Jean Kirstein's 'Just Another Day for the Survey Corps,' and some other books written about your time serving Eldia! I forgot who wrote your most popular biography 'No Regrets' but it was all about your early life! You were always my favorite person, and most of the books just said you lived in Marley, but you're here!"
"What's your name kid." Levi sighed.
"Erich Klein. Kids in my classes always make fun of my height but after reading and learning about you, and how you're short compared to most but that never kept you from being a badass I couldn't help but say you're my favorite hero!"
"Listen, Erich..." Levi began. "Can you do me a favor?"
"Of course I can!" Erich exclaimed.
"Push me to someplace that serves some nice tea" Levi ordered. Erich looked at him with some disappointment.
"Alrighty..." Erich replied. After some time, they arrived at a place with an overhead sign that read "The Bavarian Haus."
"This is a bar, not a tea shop." Levi asserted.
"Well, with all due respect Mr. Ackerman, I'm 14 and I don't really have interest in drinking tea."
"You're 14 but know where a bar here is?"
"The drinking age here is 14, so yeah I come here often." Erich responded. Levi rolled his eyes. The tavern had clay colored walls with a cobblestone foundation, wooden and stone support beams, and a bar that had a stone brick backsplash. It was surprisingly clean and had blue barstools, next to the backsplash was a menu, and by the door was a stone list of rules regarding that the establishment had every right to throw you out if you were too drunk. There were pictures of the owner's family and Eldian landmarks on the walls along with a slogan that read "Trink vor Freude, nicht vor Elend." There were windows with dying plants in them and a dart board. In the corner across the room was a piano.
"This is pretty upscale for a 14 year old." Levi mentioned.
"Welcome to the Stohess district." Erich replied. Erich had ordered for some tea but all the bar had was straight black, which Levi had no issue with. Erich had asked for a loaf of rye bread with sliced ham, and a pint of brown ale to wash it down.
