Alya knew Marinette was dating someone, but the problem was, she had never met him and Marinette wouldn't let her arrange a double date for them. Alya didn't want to see Marinette get her heart broken as she had with Luka.

Rose was organizing a couples' play and Alya was going to get Marinette and her oh-so-mysterious boyfriend to participate if it was her last act as a reporter.

Alya slid a flyer into Marinette's bag in the hopes that she or her boyfriend would see it and convince the other to sign up.

This was her best chance to find out the identity of her best friend's boyfriend and she wasn't going to mess it up.

Chat vaulted across the rooftops and sat by the window to wait for Marinette. She was just coming home from school and he wanted to help with her homework. She came up and he tapped the window to let her know of his presence.

She turned towards him and opened the window, smiling.

"Come on in, Kitty. I'll make some tea. Would you like a snack?"

"Yes, please."

"Okay. While I'm down there, will you unpack my backpack?"

"Of course, Purrincess."

Chat started pulling out her books and setting them on the table. When he pulled out her binder, a slip of paper fell out and floated to the floor.

He bent down and picked it up.

It was a couples' musical theatre advertisement. Was Marinette going to sign them up for it? He hoped she was. He wondered, though, why she hadn't mentioned it to him yet.

He heard Marinette's footsteps behind him and he turned to her, still frowning at the paper. "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

She took the paper from him and scanned it. "Ugh, Alya must have slipped this in my bag while I was in the bathroom," she looked up at him. "Alya has been trying to get me to sign up for the couples' musical all week. She wants to meet you, but the problem is, I know what she'll do. I know she just wants to protect me, and after what happened with Luka, I don't blame her. But I can take care of myself."

"Wait. Who's Luka? And what did he do?"

Marinette curled up on the chaise and held her arms out for him to join her. "Luka is my ex-boyfriend. I thought I was in love with him, but I was an idiot. He had been cheating on me from the very beginning. I don't think she knew he was dating me because she broke up with him when we found out what he was doing to us. I was really upset because, like I said, I thought I was in love with him. Alya got really mad and had her boyfriend drive her over as soon as she heard, so she could punch him. I haven't dated anyone since."

"Oh, Purrincess." He hugged her. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, but you know I would never do that to you. Right?"

She hugged him back, "I know, Kitty."

"I want to meet your friend."

"What?" she pulled back.

"I want to meet Alya. Why don't we audition for that couples' play and I can meet Alya? I want her to know who I am so she can see that I am sincere. Plus, I want to get to know the people you care about."

"All right, Kitty, but you have to be on your best behavior."

"Cat's honor."

"Okay, I'll call Alya tonight and ask her for the details."
