Purring

Marinette closed her eyes. She'd had a splitting headache all day and was looking forward to when she could get home and take a nap, but now that she was home, she couldn't sleep.

There was a thump and someone tapped on her window.

She kept her eyes closed and called, "Come in, Chat."

The window opened and he said, "Hey, Purrincess, what are you doing?" making her head pounding.

"Trying to sleep. I have a headache."

He padded over to her and knelt next to the chaise, resting his arms on it. "Do you need a cat to snuggle with?"

"Yeah, that would be nice."

She moved over and he climbed on next to her, wrapping his arms around her as she laid her head on his chest. Loud purrs rumbled from his chest and she immediately relaxed.

"I love it when you purr."

"And I love you." He kissed the top of her head.

"Me too, Kitty."

"Meowch, Milady, don't you love your kitty too?"

Marinette looked up at him and pouted.

He let out a soft laugh and stroked her head. "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist."

"Well, you'd better learn to resist soon because otherwise, you might have an unfortunate accident someday."

"Don't you mean un-fur-tunate?" He grinned down at her.

Marinette just stared at him.

"Why don't you get some rest? That might help your headache."

She laid her head back down on his chest and mumbled, "It also might help if someone stopped teasing me."

"Yes, but then you would miss my silky tone and your headache might come back."

She could hear the smile in his voice.

"No, I'd really consider it a benefit."

"Aw, Purrincess," he griped.

"If you don't want me to tease you then you should let me get some rest."

"Fine."

Marinette settled down and let her kitty's purring lull her to sleep. When she woke up, she felt more refreshed than she had in weeks. She wasn't sure why, but she thought it might have to do with the company and contented purring of a certain cat.

I may not be able to post every day this week. I'll try as hard as I can, but I'm starting a week-long musical theatre class. I promise I will write all the days I miss they will probably be late, though. Thank you to my wonderful beta Moonlight of the moon! Also, this chapter was inspired by Plikki's Purr pain relief so go give them some love. I'll link it in the comments.
