This one for all my homies out there that are called 'mature for their age'. I know how you feel

Despite being one of the younger kids at the orphanage, you were considered the most 'mature'.

You don't know how it happened but one day the care takers there started praising you for how 'mature' you were for your age. You were so grown up, unlike the older kids. This caused the older kids to have a slight distaste for you since you were given more praise for being 'mature'. They rolled their eyes and muttered about how you weren't mature at all.

Letting out a small sight, you rolled out of bed and put on the jacket of your assumed father, it was really the only thing that belonged to you. You rolled up the sleeves and helped wake up the toddlers with a caregiver. You helped walk two of the toddlers to the dining room and helped them sit before sitting yourself.

You sat in between two older kids who had a bigger distaste for you then the others. When the adults were out of earshot they started barraging you with rude words. It didn't bother you though, you were 'mature' and mature kids didn't cry, especially over words. You continued to take small bites of your food as they kept talking about you.

After breakfast you helped the toddlers back to their room and helped them change into clothes. and brushing out their hair for them as they babbled nonsense. They dressed in the cute little dresses and shirts that were bought for them as today was a big day. The orphanage was having an open house, which was basically a bunch of adults coming to see the children and adopt.

You stayed in your long sleeve that was a bit big and shorts, as well as your dads jacket, because they were the only clothes you really had. The other kids your age had taken all the clothes saying a 'mature' kid like you didn't need clothes like they did.

Sitting on the floor is where you planned on staying for the open house, playing around with the toddlers as they babbled non-sense.

As adults started swarming in is when you started zoning out, letting the toddler in your lap mess around with your jacket sleeves as you stared at the wall. You weren't exited for this, 'mature' kids didn't get exited so you've been told.

You sat on the floor as adults picked up the toddlers and coddled at them and praised you for being 'mature' and taking care of them before ignoring you and taking the toddlers away with them. You didn't care though, you couldn't even if you wanted to, even if it hurt you inside you weren't allowed to show it. Mature kids didn't do that.

You sat by yourself on the floor, drawing small patters onto the floor as all the kids talked to the adults and got adopted. You weren't expecting an adult to talk to you other than calling you mature, but they say expect the unexpected right?

"Hi" A man said as he sat next to you. You eyed him as you put your hands in your pockets and straightened your back a bit. He wore a bucket hat, long robes, and a skirt that went down to his ankles. His hair was long and blond, braids decorated it and there was even a shiny green thing in a braid. You nodded before looking back at the floor.

"I'm Philza, what's your name?" He asked while leaning forward to get in your vision. You looked at him, making eye contact for a second, before looking away and moving your shoulder that had a 'hello my name is' sticker on it. He let out a small 'ah' sound before smiling. "Y/N is a very nice name". You looked over at him with wide eyes before looking away.

He chuckled before standing up and gently taking your hand and helping you up. Now that you stood side by side with him, he was quite tall. He walked to the front desk with you and talked to the lady at the desk.

"Ah, (Y/N). Their a good choice, quite mature too" She said while giving you a wink and getting paperwork out.  He looked down at you and let out a sigh before signing the paperwork and all that stuff. You didn't pay much attention as you zoned out, everything was blank, a blur.

"C'mon kiddo, lets go" He smiled while taking your hand again and walking outside. One outside he picked you up so your wrapped around his torso and your head was leaning on his shoulder to see behind him. He pat your back a bit before large wings spread from his back and started flapping. You blinked and suddenly you were in the air.

You let out a breath in amazement as you looked down at the ground before shaking your head and hiding your face in the crook of his face. Mature kids didn't get amazed, you had to remember that.

After awhile you landed, but Philza kept holding you as he walked into the house you assumed was his. He ruffled your hair as you heard stomping and yelling. You tensed before relaxing. Mature kids didn't get scared.

"DADZA! WHO IS THAT? DID YOU GET ME A SIBLING! TUBBOS GUNNA BE SO EXITED!" A kid yelled, he was loud.

"Tommy, stop yelling you're gonna scare them you dimwit" Another voice said, he sounded like an older kid.

"Both of you shut up" A third voice said, his voice was monotone and seemed unamused, mature if you will.

"All three of you calm down. Yes Tommy, I got another kid. Wilbur be nice to Tommy. And Techno, don't be rude to your brothers." Philza said while holding onto you. You let out a quiet yawn before snuggling into Philza and closing your eyes to sleep.

"(Y/N) here is tired, so we're gonna let them rest. Okay?" Phil spoke with long pauses as if he was speaking to aliens making Techno chuckle as Tommy questions why he was talking like that.

Philza left the three to talk as he walked over to his bedroom and laid you down and pat your head before leaving the room. You closed your eyes and sighed before drifting off to your long awaited sleep.
