Niall's POV
It was late at night now, posslible around 8 or 9 pm. I didn't care. I was absolutley buzzing today. I feel like I'm on Cloud 9.
Anyway, like I said, it was late at night and I was walking to the shops. All I wanted to do tonight was watch a Marvel movie and eat as many snacks as I could. I also sort of planned on telling Olivia how I felt tonight. If she has the same feelings for me as I do for her, then there's no point in wasting any time.
But, as fate destined it to be, I walked into the shop, seeing Olivia at the counter. This is a pretty small town so we were going to bump into each other at some point. I just find it crazy that we never did before, and now, when I want to see her, we do. It's meant to be.
Okay, I sound deluded. But I'm just so damn happy.
I watched her walk out of the shop as I hid behind one of the shelves. She didn't look my way and to be honest, I was a little thankful because I wanted to surprise her. So, as she walked out, she stopped for a few seconds sorting out her bags. She must've been walking home. I would drive her. I guess Louis isn't as boyfriend material as he thought. Maybe I should ask her if she needs a lift.
I stayed in my spot, watching her from the window. I was about to walk out but I stopped when a man came in front of her. He was wearing a dark hoodie that covered his face. This wasn't going to be good. Still, I kept my distance. She might recognise him, you never know.
I watched the two, subtly from the corner of my eye. Nothing bad had happened yet but when the man started moving closer to her, I noticed her become uncomfortable. She tried to walk away, but he gripped her wrist and that's when I knew I had to step in.
As I stomped outside the shop, I caught a glimpse of their conversations.
"Let me go!"
"Honey, just let me drive you home. It isn't good for a pretty girl to be out this late."
My jaw clenched as my fist tightened. I walked behind Olivia and turned her around by grabbing her shoulder. "She already has a ride." I said to the man with venom.
"Hey, back off mate." He let go of her wrist and fronted me.
All I did was push him back. "I said." I paused to punch him in the face. "She already has a ride."
He staggered back and I could smell the smoke on his lips as he breathed heavily. He gripped his jaw and ran away in the opposite direction. I turned to Olivia who was panting heavily. "You okay." I said, wrapping my arms around her slowly. I didn't know if she would retaliate or accept.
Thankfully she accepted and we stayed in that position for a while.
Eventually, she pulled back and nodded. "Thank you." She spoke softly.
"Anytime." It was silent again, a little awkward. At least until I began to talk. "Listen, I've been meaning to call you. I wanted to ask you something."
"Me too. I saw your tweet and I wanted to thank you."
"Oh, umm." I scratched my neck nervously. "Yeah, I wanted to apologise for that. But that's not why I wanted to call you."
"Oh?"
"Yeah." I breathed. Well, here goes nothing. "I wanna be with you again." I said confidently. I moved closer to her and grabbed her hands. She pulled back almost instantly with a shocked look in her eye.
"Niall, you know I have a boyfriend. That's what started this whole drama."
"Oh come on. How long are you going to keep up that facade. I know everything. Ella told me. You and him aren't even together, you're just doing this to spite me." I moved my hands up slightly and gripped her wrists. "Don't play games with me because you'll lose. What you wanted worked, I'm offically jealous. I want to be with you, I know you want to be with me too."
