Last night was one of the worst night's of my life. After breaking down, I fell asleep in Louis' arms. He must've taken me to bed because when I woke up this morning I was in my room. I felt better after crying last night but waking up this morning felt like torture. My eyes were puffy and swollen and my hair was all over the place. I got changed into a purple oversized sweater and grey sweats, I didn't feel like making an effort this morning. I went downstairs to see Ella and Louis watching TV. I walked over to them and from behind the sofa wrapped my arms around Ella. She turned around with a smile on her face and softly, I said, "Hey."
"Hey."
"Were you okay last night? I know hearing us fight wasn't exactly nice." I walked over to the front of the sofa and sat between the two of them. Louis wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled into his chest before turning back to hear Ella's reply.
"I was fine." She said unconvincigly. I sent her a look but she shrugged it off. "Honestly." She said more confident. I put my arms out and stroked her cheek comfortingly, I know this couldn't have been easy for her either.
I held her close for a while until I remembered something and checked the time. I let go of her rather abruptly, ignoring her confused looks and pointed towards the clock. "Shouldn't you be at school in 15 minutes? And you have to get changed."
"Oh God!" She ran up the stairs faster than lightening. I heard Louis chuckle from behind me.
"Don't worry El, I'll drop you off when I leave for the studio." I turned around to face him, still in his warm embrace and stared in his eyes.
"You're going to the studio?" He nodded, I gluped before speaking again. "Will..will" I made a gesture with my hands, "Be there?" He nodded slowly and hugged me close.
"Don't worry, love. I'll handle it." He whispered against my ear sending chills down my spine.
I shuddered and got up and walked into the kitchen. He followed me and sat on the worktop whilst I made breakfast. "He rang this morning by the way." I turned around to face him with a worried look. He laughed a little, "Calm down, he was just saying he wants to come by to pick up his stuff. He said he
was going to come after we're done with recording and drop off his key." I nodded slowly and turned around carrying on with making my tea.
"I'll be out of the house then." I said with no emotion in my voice. I didn't want to risk seeing him. There was an awakward silence for a few moments so I tried changing the subject. "Did you stay over last night?"
"Yeah, I stayed in the guest room after you fell asleep, it was like 11 so I couldn't be bothered driving home" I nodded and sat down at the breakfast bar. "Plus I wanted to see if you were going to be okay." This put a smile on my face.
"That's so swe-" Just then Ella came in running around,
"Liv, have you seen my shoes?" She said in a frantic tone running round the kitchen.
"Well, I don't think they're in the kitchen" Louis said stifling a laugh. I glared at him which just made it even harder for him to control and he burst out laughing. Ella turned around and gave him the same look I was giving but it seemed a thousand times angrier. I got up from my seat and walked over to her, putting my hands on her shoulders. I looked her in the eyes and she did the same.
"Calm down, breathe," I said inhaling and exhaling, she copied me. "Let's go and look in the hallway, if they're not there you can wear my black boots. They should match with your outfit." I said smiling at her. She took a deep breath and nodded before taking off for the hallway. I turned around to look at Louis who was smiling proudly. "What?" I said chuckling softly.
"I just love the way you are with Ella, how you look out for her and everything. After knowing you all these years, I can't help but feel proud." I gave him a goofy grin and blushed. I wasn't used to being complimented so I never knew what to do when I was. A soft but uneasy laugh escpaed my lips and I looked down at the floor. "I'm serious Liv. I know I'm only a few years older than you but I've known you forever and I know you more than anyone. So believe me when I say that if I'm proud of you, then I have to say your parents would be immensely proud of you." I looked up at smiled at him. He sighed heavily, "You know not a day goes by when I don't miss them, and they're not even my parents."
"I miss them too Louis. Every second of everyday. I just hope what you said is true and that they are proud of me." I said as we walked over to Ella.
