Chapter 3

I wake up with papers scattered around me. I pick up one, and smack my hand on my forehead. Finals. Math and English today, science and social studies tomorrow. I roll out of my bed and to the mirror in the hallway. My hair is in knots and parts are sticking up in some places. I pick up my brush and start ripping my hair apart. It felt like my hair was getting pulled out of my head.

When the pain was finally over, I quickly pull my hair into a high ponytail. I throw on my regular clothing; a t-shirt, jeans, and a hoodie. I didn't have time to look nice. It's school, not a wedding.

I gather my papers together and stuff them in my bag, but made sure not to crumble any of them. I'm slightly OCD about that. I run downstairs and saw the keys on the wine cabinet. I walked over and picked them up.

"Mom! Can I drive the car today?" I called. I have my tempts, but I'll get my license in July. Only two months.

"Sure! Go ahead and start the car!" she yells from upstairs. I grip the keys tighter and run downstairs to my soon to be black Volkswagen, then put the keys in.

My mom comes down and hops in the passenger seat. I back out and head to school. I step into my first block, but Mr. Pierce steps in front of me. I try to move past him and get to my seat, but he keeps stepping in my way.

"You don't need to take your finals today," he says smiling.

"B-but why?" I ask confused.

"You passed all of your classes by a landslide. Theres no need for you to take any finals at all."

For the rest of the day I stay in the library. It was boring, but relaxing for a change.

I look at the clock.

Two days till summer.

I wake up the next day and bound into the school doors.

One day.

One hour.

One minute.

Out of the place that makes me crazy! I'll have to work on my summer homework though. I'm fine with that. As long as I get an A-plus.
