Sage
••••••••••••••••••••
Oh my god. He's coming over here.

He. Is. Coming. Over. Here.

Aspen I don't need to worry about. She had no interest in guys like Nathan. But I worried about Scarlett. She likes those types of guys and can get them in a second.

"Hey girls." He says smiling.

Oh god he isn't wearing a shirt.

It takes my every ounce of will power to not stare at his abs.

"Hi Sage." He says.

"Hi..." I smile, feeling like a dork.

He smiles as my face gets hotter. Then he turns to Aspen.

"You rode on the bus with me right? Your name is... Don't tell me... Alright tell me." He says defeated

"I'm Aspen." She says, extending her hand.

"Nathan. Nice to meet you guys. So I heard there is this like prom thing at the end of summer... It seems a long way off, but, Sage, do you wanna go with me?" He asks.

My vision was darkening, and my knees were starting to give, but I manage to smile and stutter out a yes.

Then he walks away.

I collapse.

Scarlett and Aspen help me up, Scarlett was laughing and, surprisingly, so was Aspen.

"Wow... You really like him." Says Aspen.

"Is it that obvious?" I ask my face still red.

They both double over laughing.

Aspen manages to stop long enough to say "you just collapsed after he spoke to you..." Then she is laughing again. And I can't help but laugh to.

~~~
I learn that Scarlett and Aspen both hate the beach which doesn't surprise me considering neither could tan. I, on the other hand, tan after being outside for 2 minutes.
We are now walking back to the cabin and it is 8 ish at night. Unlike most camps, our cabins didn't have monitors, but they did surprise checks on cabins to make sure it was clean.
By the time we got back to the cabin the sun was setting.
It is now 8:30 so a girl in my cabin, Gabby, got out a dec of cards.
"What should we play?" Yells a girl with dark hair and blonde highlights.
"Does anyone know bs?" I ask. They all look at me in confusion.
Except for Aspen. Her eyes widen. "You play bs?! Oh my gosh, yes!!" She cheers.
We start playing. I have to explain as we went but after a few minutes they got the hang of it.
I always win at this game, I didn't necessarily have a good poker face. But I play opposite. If I put down a lying card I seemed confident, a real card and I will try to avoid eye contact. This usually works, but for some reason Aspen could usually tell when I was lying. Then I turn around and start playing a different way. Blank face. The whole time.
I won.
After another 2 games (I won both) we decide to go to bed.
I got in my bunk and read for a while, then write in my diary about Nathan.
That is amazing. I got asked out by Nathan Collins. Amazing.
Later they turn off the lights and the only sound was of people breathing.
