4 months have now passed, Lydia is now 16 and in her final year of high school, Betelgeuse is now 21 and in a happy relationship with his significant others, Adam and Barbara. They were all sleeping except for Betelgeuse who sat awake on the edge of the bed rather than in the middle of his favourite people. Adam woke up and looked with concern at the look of his lover's scared face. His fluffy emerald-green hair had a few chunks of gold and he was still awake. Adam looked at the clock on his left, it read 5:22am. Adam pulled Betelgeuse down and wrapped his arms around his back and intertwined their fingers. Barbara now woke up as well as she felt Adam pulling Betelgeus back down.

"Love bug, what's up, what are you worried about?" the youngest ghost in the couple asked with a look of concern for her demon boyfriend.

"Nothing" he mumbled, it's just-" Betelgeuse sighed and looked down. Suddenly he got out of bed and turned on a lamp. The Maitlands watched Betelgeuse get down on one knee and pull out a small black box with two beautiful gold rings inside, on the inside of the ring it had engraved 'LOVE YOU FOR ETERNITY'.

"Adam Maitland and Barbara Butterfield, will you do the honour of making me the happiest demon in the living world and Neitherworld and marry me?" Betelgeuse asked with a small smile.

"Oh my god, Beej, yes, yes I will marry you!"Adam squealed. Barbara didn't say anything but tackle Betelgeuse to the floor and shower him in kisses. Betelgeuse let out a breath he wasn't aware he was holding and the three spent the rest of the night snuggling and planning the big day. The next day the newly engaged couple walked downstairs all with a yawn and shabby hair. Both walked into the kitchen where everyone was having breakfast and slumped down on the chairs with a sigh.

"Oh, why good morning sleepy heads!" Delia greeted them all, bringing them some scrambled eggs on toast.

"Morning Mom." the half-asleep demon half-heartedly greeted.

"Are you three okay...?" Charles asked looking up from his newspaper, confused as they were never like this when it came to breakfast, especially Betelgeuse.

"Yeah" Adam said, still half asleep, "We are no longer boyfriends and girlfriend, so we didn't get much sleep last night" he finished. Lydia moved to hug her brother figure and Delia went to hug Barbara and Charles placed a hand on Adams in a supportive way.

"Uh guys, what's with all the sympathy?" Barbara asked "If you let us finish you will hear the reason as to why we are no longer boyfriends and girlfriend. Beej, Love bug, would you?". Everyone was confused, they were still calling each other pet names despite no longer dating.

"The reason we are no longer darting is because we are now fiancés!" Betelgeuse said, holding Adam and Barbara's hands and gesturing with his head to the beautiful golden rings on their fingers. Suddenly and unexpectedly a roar of cheers erupted from the breakfast table as the other 3 people tackled the soon-to-be-married couple into a bone crushing hug and asked lots of questions enthusiastically.

A few months later, all deceased individuals were in separate rooms, Adam was downstairs in the living room with Charles to help him get prepared for the big day. He didn't care that his soon-to-be husband was autistic and could get unbearable mood swings, he loved him and that is all that matters, he loved Barbara equally as well and couldn't wait for the event to commence. Barbara was in the kitchen preparing with Lydia who would be the bridesmaid. Finally Betelgeuse was in the attic with his mother figure Delia to help him get ready. He was standing nervously with a mix of white, black and grey hair by the window looking out at the birds bridging food to their chicks. It was the middle of spring and Betelgeuse liked it, there was so much to see, so many plants to smell, and not to mention he loved birdwatching which was a surprise to everyone. Delia could see the nervousness of Betelgeuse, and his hair was a dead giveaway. He was lost in thoughts like "They don't actually love you; they hate you; you're going to mess this day up and they won't talk to you again, what if they don't say 'I do'". he started to feel sick and dizzy. His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice.
