Betelgeuse woke up when he felt Remus in his arms moving. That night, he became too hot, so he pulled off his blanket and put it on Remus. But they were screwed on the ground when he awakened. He was a truly, very fidgety sleeper, but he didn't mind it. The demon wiped his eyes to glance at his clock and moved his head. 6:42 am. He had to leave for a Saturday shift yet a bit later. Remus was still engulfed in an embrace, tightening it up, cuddling slightly closer to the demon. His eyes were closed and he had been sleeping again before he could think. It was 11:03 the following time the demon woke up. Betelgeuse had to check his clock another time, hoping he wasn't late for the job. Clock did not change. He should have been there by 7:30 a.m. Miss Argentina had left 17 missed calls on his pager, he discovered. She left the message and Betelgeuse clicked on play on the low volume so the dozing kid would not wake up.
"Hey chico bicho! Normally you're not late. Did you fall asleep? ay-yi-yi. Get here just soon! Just get here pronto! Hasta la vista bicho!" She said an accent on her Buenos Aires heritage. He was still quite tired, he didn't want to travel and wanted to spend the day with Remus. He had already been late and can't merely be ashamed. He just found her on the pager and typed on it.
"hye Miss A. Im' really not feelng very godo today but i cuold try get in ASAP. apologies. Ps. stop calling me chcio bicho! we're nto dating anymoer! that was a mistkae!" The demon relaxed and swooped backwards and pulled the dormant kid near his body and kissed his forehead and woke him slowly by stroking his fingers through his hair.
"Hey!" Betelgeuse politely said.
"hey." Sleepily, wiping his eyes and yawning, Remus moved back. Betelgeuse forgot momentarily Remus doesn't sleep with the glass eye, so for a few seconds he received a little bit of a start but composed himself. Remus put his arms around the demon, cuddling him in close proximity.
"morning." Betelgeuse said. A second time greeted, this time gently shaking him.
"mhmh!"
"Time to get up!" he remarked, but Remus obviously fell asleep. "Alright. A little longer, you can sleep here!" He replied, drawing the blankets over Remus, and standing up. In the middle of his morning training, he stretched and stumbled down stars where Jacques was. He was lifting weights in the centre. He realised shortly that Betelgeuse was supposed to be at work and not eating roast bugs.
"Should you not be aht wahrk?" he said, beaming through his French accent.
"Jacarse, I'm staying home. This is not fair to Remus! It is not fair." The demon said back. The French skeleton remarked, and decided to continue his daily exercise.
"Fine, fair enough!" Only when his pager blept many times had Betelgeuse sat down. Miss Argentina was calling him. He answered, putting on his sick best voice.
"Hi?" he coughed. "Hello?"
"Oh bicho! You sound really not good!" He rasped,
"Stop Tina. stop with the 'bicho'."
"Sorry, sorry." she answered. This is only a habit force. You know that!"
"What do you want?!" Betelgeuse, in a huffy voice that sounded like he really was unwell, on the other line said.
"To see how you are. That's why I was phoning.
"Bloody awful. Bloody lousy. like my stomach is made out of toilets."
"Yeah! You're sounding ill." For a brief while, things were silent, and she heard a door open and shut.
"Hello-o! Anybody home?!" A female voice cried out in a New York accent.
