Ben breathed heavily, head spinning. Had he really just controlled almost the whole stadium?
"You did good, kid," Alpha Leonas told him gruffly.
"Th-thank you, sir," Ben whispered, almost scared to speak loudly again.
"Ben Jermin Cougar."
The voice was unfamiliar, accented, and authoritative.
Ben turned to see a male in a charcoal gray suit walking towards him. Somehow the male managed to look both elegant and intimidating.
"Yeah, that's me," Ben said quietly, still cautious about raising his voice.
The man held his hand out. Ben took it automatically, noting that the male's grip was firm and assertive.
"I am Sir Isaac Oswald, one of the Alpha King's recruiters."
"The Alpha King?" Ben parroted. The spinning sensation returned.
"I like what I saw out there, Mr. Cougar. We've been watching you for quite some time. Kurt was a prodigy in his day and Clair...well, she's the first female alpha we've had on record in the last three hundred years."
"Wait, my mom's...? What's going on, Mr. Oswald?"
"Female alpha?" Alpha Leonas repeated, voice full of disbelief.
"Please, Mr. Cougar, call me Sir Oswald. As for you," he turned to Alpha, "I do not recall inviting you to this conversation."
Ben's eyes grew wide. Nobody talked to Alpha like that.
Alpha's face reddened, "You're not from around here, so I'll let it go. This time. Just so you know, I am the local alpha, from the Leonas line."
"I know exactly who you are, Franklin Lionel Leonas. However, I am not here for you sir, so if you would be on your way that would be most agreeable."
"You--!" Alpha took a threatening step forward.
Ben's eyes shot between the two of them, not sure what he should do.
"Bow to me," Alpha demanded, power focused on Sir Oswald.
Sir Oswald gave him an annoyed look but did not follow the direction. "I said, sir, that you should be on your way. This is your last warning."
Alpha growled, "You are in my territory, and you will bow."
Ben's body shuddered from the power in that single word, but Sir Oswald took a menacing step forward.
Before he took the next Mr. Garth was there, grabbing his shoulder.
"Izzy, you've got to stop killing alphas you don't like," Mr. Garth sounded both amused and bored.
Sir Oswald jumped, "Sire!"
Mr. Garth growled as the other man quickly ducked down, "I swear if you bow to me I will separate your head from your body. Common people aren't supposed to know who I am."
"Yes, sire--uh, I mean, sir. Yes, sir," Sir Oswald said quickly, catching himself before he bowed again.
Mr. Garth sighed heavily, "Besides, I gave up that title long ago..."
"But it's always yours, should you ever wish to reclaim it. Your inner Circle remains loyal, patiently awaiting you or your heir."
Mr. Garth's eyes rested on Ben for a moment before glancing away, "I may have an heir in mind. I wanted to see what you thought, Izzy."
