"Wait, one more," Eileen demanded, grabbing for one last handful of popcorn before Ben threw away the bucket.
At the last second he jerked it away from her.
She paused in surprise, but when she saw his grin, she gave him a playful glare and leapt at him, grabbing his arm and all but climbing him to get the popcorn.
He let his arm be pulled back, not fighting her too much. He missed this. This was the Eileen he remembered.
She eyed him as she slowly ate her prize, chewing carefully. Finally she asked, "That doesn't bother you?"
"What?" he wondered.
"Me being all aggressive and stuff?"
Ben snorted, "That's aggressive?"
She folded her arms, "Well, it's not feminine."
Not feminine? He wouldn't let Archie and P.A. climb all over him to get something.
"It's cute. And fun." He shrugged, "It's you."
A brilliant, unreserved smile lit her face, "You're not like other guys."
"Am I supposed to be?"
"No. I like you just the way you are, Ben Jermin Cougar."
"And I like you just the way you are Eileen My Fantasy Grau."
"Your fantasy, huh?" she grinned, bumping him with her shoulder.
It felt like every touch injected him with a boost of energy and happiness, like a shot of caffeine straight into his veins. He felt a little giddy, actually. Did guys feel giddy? Didn't matter, he did.
He reached his hand down to grab hers again, loving and needing the connection. "You've always been my fantasy."
"I'd like to hear about those sometime," she said, cutting him a side look with a flirty smile.
His heart kicked up a notch. "You would?"
"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours."
Her...fantasies? About him? Like when they'd talked on the computer?
Arousal hit him square in the balls, and he actually missed a step, tripping over his own feet. How pathetic was it that she could make him momentarily forget how to walk?
He glanced at her to see if she noticed, but her grin was wider than ever.
No, not a grin, he decided. A satisfied smirk.
"You like doing that to me, don't you?" he accused.
"What do you think?" she challenged.
"I think..." he wracked his brain for an answer. It needed to be something good, something flirty. Crap, he was blanking. "Uh, yeah."
She let out a short amused breath, "Stellar comeback, Cougar."
"I'd like to cum on your back," he blurted. Then his face turned crimson. "I-I mean, uh--"
Why the hell had he said that? How could he recover from that? She was going to--
Start laughing in his face apparently.
In fact she laughed so hard that she collapsed against his side, "Wayden, Ben, that was cringy! You've been hanging out with those frat boys too much!"
"Frat boys?"
"The clubbing guys," she squeaked, still laughing.
"Archie and P.A.? "
