Y/N chuckled lightly as she heard the screams of the UA students scaring one another in the forest. She was brought in as a healer, just in case any of the students got hurt during the rigorous training camp. She was recovery girl's assistant, and had the ability to heal using water. She listened again to the screams, and then picked up a faint hint of smoke. Her eyes widened and she rushed into the forest, determined to find the source and report back.
She followed the smell and found a man with purple scars all over his body shooting blue flames around the forest. Wait... purple scars? How was she...? Oh shit. Her eyes widened as she realized what was happening. She froze as she watched him stroll casually through the trees, burning and wreaking havoc as he went. She finally shook off her shock and turned around, but froze again as a branch snapped under her foot. She slowly turned around to see him staring at her in shock. It seemed she wasn't imagining things. He saw what she was seeing.
"Compress," he started, not taking his eyes off of her, "there's one more we need to take." She turned around and started to run, but felt something hit the back of her head before everything fell black.
She woke up tied to a chair, and the first thing she noticed was the man who was apparently her soulmate standing at the bar, sipping a drink and staring at her. She shook a little bit and felt tears start to form in the corners of her eyes, but hardened herself and swallowed them back. He saw this and smirked.
"Hi. Sorry to meet this way, but hey, I had to take you once I saw you. The name's Dabi. It's very inconvenient to meet you, soulmate." She shook her head. No. This couldn't be right. A villain couldn't be her soulmate. He seemed to read her mind and chuckled. "Believe it sweetheart. It's you and me, whether we like it or not." She observed him with narrowed eyes. As much as she hated to admit it, he was very handsome, even with the scars. And despite his villainy, so far his personality was something she was attracted to. A bit dry, funny even. She shook her head again, dispelling the thoughts, and he laughed wryly. "I'm not happy about it either. But hey, at least you're cute." She found herself blushing despite herself, and looked down at her hands to stop him from seeing it.
"What are you going to do with me?"
"Well, I would like it if you would stay here with us and get to know me. I know you probably won't stay willingly, but hey, with time you might. For now I'll let you out of that chair, but know that if you try to leave you'll be killed. Now, will you be good?" She suppressed a shiver and nodded, still refusing to look at him. "Good." She saw his shadow fall over her, and the ropes that were tied around her were loosened. She pulled her arms out and shook out her wrists, finally daring to look at him. He smiled gently at her and held out his hand. "Come on. Let me show you around."
Several months went by, and while Bakugo was saved (as she later discovered), the heroes were unable to save her. But she found herself almost glad that they couldn't. While she refused to participate in any evil, she found herself drawn to Dabi, and becoming very comfortable around him. One day, when they were sitting together in his room, laughing and joking, she found herself staring at him in a moment of peace with a smile on her face. He raised his eyebrows at her.
"What's up?" She shook her head, looking away from him with a smile still on her face. "Hey, that's not fair. You can't just sit there smiling at me and not explain."
"Sure I can. I think I've earned the right to tease you a bit." He scoffed, faking being offended.
"I thought I was the only one allowed to tease you? Since I'm you're handsome and hilarious soulmate and all that. Or are we still not acknowledging that?" She rolled her eyes at him.
"How about this? If you can get the guts to kiss me, and we both feel something, then I'll allow the acknowledgment." His eyes widened slightly before he lunged forward, capturing her lips with his in a deep kiss. She kissed back, and there was no denying the fireworks that sparked between them as her arms wrapped around his neck and his around her waist. They pulled away at the same time, breathing heavily. "Wow." She said simply, panting slightly.
"So. Is it safe to say we can acknowledge we're soulmates now?" She nodded breathlessly before pulling his face back to hers in another kiss.
While this was certainly not the soulmate she expected, and she didn't approve of his choice of lifestyle, she knew that they would overcome any problems they had. They were, after all, destined to be.
