Ring, ring, ring, ring.

Tommy's eyes snapped open and he immediately sat up from the confines of the couch, hands clumsily fishing for the phone in his pocket. Cursing to himself he found it and answered.

"Tommy?" the voice over the phone queried.

"Wilbur, you're here? Sorry man, I fell asleep n' shit," he groggily explained.

"You sleep until three and then sleep again? How the hell did you manage that child?" Wilbur snickered into the phone. "I'm outside, hurry up or I might just leave you" he joked, the sound of his car door closing in the background.

"Piss off Wilbur, I'm coming!" Tommy whined, quickly putting on his shoes and giving his hair a quick brush while hurrying out the door. He hung up and rushed down the stairs of the apartment building, making a beeline towards the parking lot.

His eyes scanned the area until he saw Wilbur in the distance waving to him. A smile etched itself into the boy's face as he ran towards the older man, tackling him into a hug.

"Woah there, didn't know you missed me that much," Wilbur teased, a warm smile gracing his lips with chocolate brown eyes that bore into the teen fondly. Tommy immediately let go and made a face.

"Woah, woah, woah, don't get ahead of yourself there dickhead. I'm not that excited to see you." Tommy spluttered. Wilbur only snorted and ruffled the boy's hair.

"It sure seemed like the opposite with the way you hugged me there gremlin," Wilbur said.

Tommy let out an angry huff and looked up at the man to meet his eyes but was distracted. Dangling from Wilburs right ear was a finely cut green gemstone earring that sparkled in the sunlight. Upon closer inspection Tommy saw that it was attached to a shimmering golden chain that led up to a stud of the same material. On the gem itself, a symbol of what seemed like an abstract rendition of a closed eye was carved into it. Attention now completely diverted to the piece of jewelry, Tommy began to wonder where Wilbur got such a thing as it looked quite expensive. 'Maybe it's an heirloom or something' he thought, squinting. Something seemed familiar about the eye but he couldn't quite place it.

Noticing the quizzical look that fell onto the boy's features, Wilbur smirked and raised a hand to meet his ear, his fingers gently rubbing against the precious stone. The tips of them tracing the grooves of the eye.

"Oh this thing? It's part of the surprise-" Tommy opened his mouth "-No, i'm not going to tell you why, you'll see when we get there," the man explained as he turned to his car and opened the door. Wilbur plopped inside and beckoned Tommy in but the blond refused to move. He just began to stare at him with his arms crossed; a shit eating grin plastered on his face.

Wilbur, unimpressed by his actions, but willing to negotiate continued. "Fine, I'll explain a bit more on the way but just get in."

Now appeased, Tommy walked to the passengers' side and got in. Wilbur started the car and began to exit the parking lot, entering the main road.

Tommy turned to Wilbur, curiosity radiating from him. "You said you'd explain so explain."

"Nope." he responded, popping the p. The boy froze.

"What the fuck Wilbur you said you would!" Tommy cried.

"It's a surprise Tommy; why the hell would I actually tell you?" he deadpanned.

"At least tell me whatever the hells going on with that fancy ass earring you're wearing. Or what that creepy eye means," Tommy said. Wilbur ignored him and focused on the hum of the engine. "Wilby, my friend- no brother." he started.

The brunette's eyes softened. "You little shit don't pull at my heartstrings like that, you're gonna make me cry," he said. And he meant it too, Tommy was like a little brother to him. Scratch that, he was. "Fuc- fine," he groaned, "I'll tell you what the eye means and that's it." Tommy perked up. "It's a family crest if you can call it that," he admitted.

Tommy raised a brow "A family crest? I thought only important people had those." he muttered, looking out the window. Then it clicked. "You're rich!? What the hell Wilbur!" he exclaimed.

"Yeah, so?"

"You never told me!"

Wilbur snorted "You never asked." He then paused, face suddenly somber. "And I didn't want you to think differently of me," he whispered but Tommy heard it.

"Why the hell would I think of you differently dumbass!" he yelled.

Wilbur bit his lip. "Hey Tommy you know i've never seen you in those clothes before where'd you get them?" he asked, changing the subject. The blond glared at him.

"Don't change the subject assho-" he stopped when he saw how uncomfortable Wilbur was and got the hint. "A librarian gave them to me. He's some old-as-fuck man that worries too much about my wellbeing." Tommy sniggered. "I appreciate im' though," he admitted afterwards.

"Really, what's his name?" Wilbur asked.

"Philza."

The brunette's eyes widened and he let out a small laugh. No wonder the man agreed to incorporate the boy so quickly, he already knew him.

"I know right? his name's a bit weird innit." Tommy giggled.

"It sure is Tommy." Wilbur said.

Towering in front of Tommy was the most luxurious house -no mansion- he'd ever seen. Fuck, the apartment building he and Tubbo resided in wasn't even half the size of it and it housed about 50 people. Gawking, Tommy turned to Wilbur and said "You live here?"

"Yep."

"And you never told me."

"We went over this already child."

"You live here by yourself?"

"You'll see."

Wilbur then grabbed the boy's hand and led him through the grand doors of his home. He was slightly guilty regarding what was to come but it was for the better. His baby brother would learn. After all, eternity was a long time for forgiveness.
