"How...interesting."
All for One peered through his nonexistent eyes at the screen in front of him, studying the footage the scum had sent him. To be honest, he didn't care for the man who called himself Ernie, but he was useful, so he kept him alive.
He watched as a seemingly angry and distorted blond lay on the floor, against the unbearable cold. All for One tapped his fingers impatiently, waiting for something, anything to happen. Suddenly, the fragile child in the corner scuttled over to him, and lay in his arms. Katsuki wrapped his arms around the girl and held her there, his eyes squinted and tired. All for One leaned forward in his chair as a shadow stepped in front of the cell and the blonde's wings shielded the girl in his arms, protecting her. He grumbled something and sat up, adjusting his body so that she was partly behind him. He smiled. The boy would be useful, afterall.
Then, the room around him lit red, sirens blaring. Doctors and scientists around him picked up their work and scrambled for the entrance, eager to escape. He sighed and stood, slowly turning off the monitor to the computer and making his way to the exit.
As he walked through the halls, he let his mind wander. He didn't have much to think about, realistically, but he did want to find the boy in the tape, so he made his way to the hallways lined with cells, going to the ones all the way in the back. The farther away the cells were, the colder they were, and they had made sure to put the devil in a cell that would prevent him from using any of his quirks well.
As he walked to the back leisurely, he came face to face with the scum from the video tapes. He had a crazed look in his eye (when did he not?) and was splattered with blood. An ugly black tentacle hung from the sleeve of his coat, and was curling in on itself, slowly forming a hand. All for One gazed at him boredly.
"Where do you supposed you're heading off to?" He questioned. He towered over the scientist, and for a moment, all he could spew was incoherent nonsense. After he came to his senses, he cleared his throat and glanced around.
"I'm looking for the boy, sir." He kept his head low and voice polite, but All for One could hear the irritation behind his fabricated respect. So he nodded.
"You let him escape?"
Ernie froze. "No, sir. Someone shut down our systems and he managed to leave his cell. But I'm looking very diligently; he couldn't have gone far."
"Did I ask for an excuse."
He looked up slowly, coming face-to-face with the psychopath. He made sure he knew that he wasn't asking a question. It was an indirect 'shut the hell up before I kill your unloyal ass' coming from the bottom of his heart. Ernie shivered.
"N-no sir."
All for One stood back up, placing his hands behind his back. "Find him."
The frail man stood and ran, rushing past him at top speed. A black and red rope darted out of his hand and impaled the running man. There was a gasp, a choke, then there was nothing. He turned and faced the body on the ground with disinterest, then turned back around and strode away. He didn't have time for germs like him.
(Meanwhile, Ernie's assistant was found, slumped against a wall with a hole in his stomach. He died within seconds of penetration. )
Back to the present >>>>>
Katsuki grabbed the chains of the swing. Eir stared at it for a hot second before glancing up at him and asking, "What's that?"
"A swing."
"What does it do?"
"Swing."
"Can I sit on it?"
"Why the hell else would there be a seat?"
"What do I do when I sit on it?"
"Swing."
"How?"
"I dunno, we'll figure it out."
"Why?"
"Because we don't know how to use it."
"But why do you want me to swing?"
"'Cause it's supposed to be fun."
"How?"
He sighed. "Get on it and maybe we'll see."
There were giggles from the park benches a few feet away. He turned, surprised to see a few women looking his way. Some were holding babies, strollers, or nothing at all, but all of them were turned to him, laughing at their antics. He decided to ignore them and looked back at Eri, who was not trying to sit on the swing sideways.
"That's not how you do it." He picked her up and plopped her on the swing the proper way. "Now grab onto the chains; you don't wanna fall, do you?"
"No..." She did as she was told and held on, then sat there, waiting. "This is it? This is boring, Suki."
He sighed for the second time that day. "Gimme a second, brat."
He positioned himself behind her and pushed, sending her high into the air. His eyes widened in shock when she spun around the metal frame holding the swing multiple times until there was no longer enough of the chain to wrap around it. The playground went quiet. Katsuki froze and held his breath, preparing for someone to hit him, choke him, anything...
Kids erupted into laughter and ran towards him, screaming, "Me too! Me too!"
To put it short, lets just say he befriended quite a few kids that morning.
Afterwards, him and Eri left the park, hand in hand. As they walked, Katsuki's ears detected sniffling behind a tree a few feet away. He turned to it, Eri in tow, and peeked behind it carefully. There was a young boy about Eri's age, curled up and wailing. His heart ached. He reminded him of Eri, covered in blood and bandages after a "blood session"...
He reached out and gently touched the kid on the shoulder.
He whipped his head around in shock. Now, Katsuki could finally see his face. Both his eyes and hair were black, and there were fat tears rolling down his face. He sniffed and backed away fearfully.
"Who...are you?"
Katsuki bent down to his level. "My name's Katsuki. This is my sister-" he motioned to Eri-"Eri." He waited a bit and began speaking again. "I heard you crying. What's wrong, bud?"
The boy wiped his face with his hands. "M-my parents went to h-heaven today." His began sobbing. "And t-they didn't come home, a-and I-I don't know what to do-!"
Katsuki wrapped his arms around the boy, uncaring that he was wetting his shirt, or that he was probably ruining his pants buy kneeling on the grass, or that Eri was behind him, braiding his hair after not-so-discreetly taking his hair tie.
He closed his eyes, and let the boy cry.
Because he knew how it felt.
Omg how long has it been?! I'm sososo sorry! Next chapter won't be a chapter, rather a few pictures demonstrating how Katsuki looks like as of now. I'm already getting it ready, and then I'll get the other chapter(s) ready, to compensate my absence. Thank you all for your patience! ❤️
