"Is King Peter awake?" I asked a passing faun.

He stopped and shook his head. I sighed a heavy sigh as I barged into Peter's room, opening the curtains of his balcony, allowing the light to shine in.

"Wake up." I said. I was particularly snappy that morning. It had been two days. I was practically living in the library.

Peter just rolled over, pulling the blanket over his head to block out the light.

"You." I started as I walked over, pulling the blanket off him, "Have a date with Oramythh." I grumbled, pulling his arm.

"Why?" He asked sitting up.

"Because... I need to let them think they won... Maybe that'll buy me some time." I said. "Now up and at um, she's waiting."

He let out a deep sigh as he fell back into his mountain of pillows.

I stayed a good distance away from Peter and Oramythh as they took their walk through the orchard. Myself and Aleurian, Governor Maxinan's servant boy, were the chaperones.

"They're an odd couple aren't they." I said. I could tell Peter was bored out of his mind. Oramythh looked just as uninterested.

"I grew up with her and I wholeheartedly agree." Aleurian replied. He was a good-looking lad. His clothes were raggedy but he had jaw length light brown hair and blue eyes.

"How did you met his highness?" he asked.

"My brother and I fought with the Pevensies in the battle of Beruna."

"You fought?"

"My father is a knight... Of course, I did." I smiled.

"Your father is a knight, you became the Kings and Queen's personal adviser... What became of your brother."

"He unfortunately... Died protecting King Peter." I said. "He was one of the most skilled archers I'd ever met. He never missed."

"He sounds like he was a good man."

I nodded.

Aleurian looked back to where Peter and Oramythh were standing and he let out a deep sigh.

I looked at him, then back to the girl and Peter.

"You're good friends with her aren't you."

"Things changed when her father became Governor... I offered my services as his squire and he agreed to let me continue to be friends with his daughter."

He had that far off look in his eye.

"You love her don't you." I asked.

He looked at me, turning red.

"we knew we could never be together."

"Why not?"

"Her father is practically nobility. I'm just his squire..."

"But if you could... Would you?"

"I would die a million times if it meant I could be with her..." He said.

"Well... We both have something in common."

He looked at me, narrowing his eyebrows. "What do you mean by that?" He asked.

"You love Oramythh and Peter doesn't want to get married... What if we helped you two run away."

Aleurian paused and shook his head. "Her father will have me killed on sight if I did that... I love her but... I'd rather love her from a distance than to leave her like that..."

I wrapped my arm around Aleurian and turned his head to look at Peter and Oramythh.

"But you don't want her to marry him... Do you? The king who won't give her the love that she deserves..."

I saw a tear run down his face.

"What do you have in mind?"

"I need those scrolls from Maxinan's room. And more importantly... I need to talk to Oramythh alone."

"She's never out of the governor's sight... only when she's sleeping..."

"Then I guess that's when we need to talk." I smiled.
