Charlie slides along the floor, ducking down avoiding the gunshot, she hides behind a desk and peaks out watching Mr Clark with the gun. He raises the gun to April's and the girl raises her hands
"My name...my name is April Kepner. I'm 28 years old." She begins to stutter. "I was born on April 23 in o-in Ohio. I'm from Columbus, Ohio. Um...my mom-my mom is a teacher, And m-my dad is a farmer- corn- c- corn- he-he-he grows corn!" The tears are falling down her face. "Their-their names are Karen and Joe. I have three sisters. Libby's the oldest. I'm-I'm next, and then there's k-Kimmie, then Alice. I- I-I-I haven't done anything yet. I haven't ... I've barely lived. I- I'm not finished yet. No one's loved me yet. Please. Please. I'm someone's child. I'm a person. I'm a person." The tears are falling down her face and she's terrified.
"Run." Mr Clark says quietly but April is still frozen to the spot. Charlie takes a breath and runs, grabbing April's arm and pulling her the fuck out of there.
Cristina shoves Meredith into a cupboard, hiding themselves
"Derek could still be alive." Meredith cries to Cristina.
"We could get shot, he didn't hesitate to take a shot at Charlie." Cristina stands in front of the door, blocking Meredith from leaving.
"I'm going, Cristina. I am going." Meredith spits out, the tears falling down her face, she needs to get to Derek quick, he could be dead.
"No, no, no, no, you are not. Please. You'll get killed, and I'm not gonna let that happen, I'm not going to lose you." Cristina begins to cry. "You want to go, you gotta go through me." She blocks the door and doesn't let her best friend leave. Meredith grabs Cristina's arms and shoves her out the way, causing her to tumble to the floor.
"Fuck." Charlie whispers, breathing out heavily. April starts to shake and Charlie puts her arm around her. "Why didn't I just take him down." Charlie whispers and April wraps her arms around herself.
"I-I tripped over Reed. I just witnessed Derek get shot, I don't need to witness you getting shot." She says quietly and Charlie turns to look at her friend.
"It's okay, I'm okay," Charlie whispers as holds April tight. "Hey, look at me." She says to the redhead, taking her face in her hands. "I have to go."
"You can't leave me."
"April-"
"He might come back!"
"He won't, it's okay...but I can't- just- Addison is out there. I have to find her, I have to be with her, I don't know if she's okay or if she's bleeding out somewhere. Just stay here." Charlie smiles and April nods her head. Charlie takes a moment and leans forward, pressing a kiss to April's forward then takes off running.
