As soon as Addison steps into the house a soaking wet dog runs down the stairs and past her feet. She freezes, what was that thing doing in her house. The dog stops in the kitchen and shakes whatever it has in his mouth, that's when she notices one of her black $900 Louboutin heels. She takes in a deep breath and closes her eyes.

"Charlotte!" She calls out, ready to give her wife a piece of her mind.

Charlie slowly walks down the stairs, her shirt is soaking and she's covered in soap bubbles. "Hi, did you have a good day? You look hot. How was work? Did I mention you look hot?" Addison just tilts her head and raises her eyebrows, she's not impressed.

"What was that?"

"My birthday present!" Clark calls out as he runs down the stairs behind Charlie, he rushes into the kitchen grabbing the chewed shoe from his mouth.

"Nothing." Charlie smiles.

"Charlotte," Addison says with a stern tone. Charlie knows she's in for it, especially when she uses the tone.

"Mom meet Red! We were giving him a bath" Clark says with a grin on his and the dog between his legs.

"Red?" Addison says looking down at the Golden Retriever, his tongue hanging out of his mouth and brown leather collar sitting around his neck.

"His full name is 'Boston Red Sox'... 'Red' for short," Charlie says to her, Addison just raises an eyebrow.

"Clark, honey, can you take Red outside for me?" Clark just nods his head and runs outside, the dog following behind him. She follows them, her eyes making sure they're far away enough to not hear her berate her idiotic wife. Once Clark is far enough away, she turns to Charlie. "A dog?! Really?!"

"We did talk about it," She answers with a shrug of her shoulders.

They did not talk about it.

Addison just raises an eyebrow at her wife. "No we didn't, you know we're not home enough for a dog. We both work 80-hour weeks, Charlotte and right now we're barely home enough for Clark, let alone a dog. He's going straight back to where ever you got him."

"What?! Addie, come on-"

"I don't care, you completely undermined me Charlotte. You deliberately went behind my back, and for what so what you could be the 'fun parent'?" Addison is pissed and Charlie can't remember the last time she saw her this mad at her.

"What? Of course, I didn't. We passed the pound on the way back from school and he just wanted a look...and then the next thing I knew we were at the store spending 200 bucks on dog food." Charlie explains, trying to calm her wife. Addison crosses her arms and leans against the kitchen island, her head low. She takes a few breaths steadying herself. "Addie, baby," Charlie says, taking a step toward her and gently taking her arms. "You are an amazing mom, okay? Please don't ever doubt that and I'm sorry if sometimes I do things to gain points with the kid but he's 13, he's had a shitty life and we're here to make it the best it can be. You're amazing and we're in this together."
