He's quiet on the bus ride back; Ashley sits beside him, talking on the phone. He wanted to talk to Charlie, run into her arms, and cry. He wanted to go home. He leans his head on the window and watches the buildings and trees fly past. The earbuds play soft music in his ears, and he taps his feet to the song's beat. He closes his eyes and thinks of home. Suddenly, the music stops as Ashley pulls out his headphones.

"I was talking to you."

"I couldn't hear you." He sighs, taking out the other earbud and wrapping the long cable around his iPod.

"I know. You'll have to make your own dinner tonight; I have a date." Clark tunes her out as he stares out the window.

Ashley goes out, and Clark is happy for the peace. He sits in his room, works, and then makes food. He would make food, but there's nothing in the cupboards. He sighs and just closes the doors to the empty shelves. Luckily, he had some dollars Addison had given him stashed away in sneakers. So, he orders pizza.

He's watching reruns of some medical show Charlie loves; there's a knock at the door. Clark looks through the peephole before he opens the door; Addison always taught him that. There's no pizza delivery man in sight, but a heavily tattooed man with a stern look on his face stands outside. Clark backs away from the door.

"Clark, let us in. It's your mom." Ashley calls from the other side, and he cautiously opens it. The man pushes his way into the apartment, and Clark falls backwards.

Ashley walks in carrying a pizza box, and as Clark is about to speak up, she opens it.

"God, that's disgusting." She says, sneering at the food inside. Before he can do anything, she dumps it in the trashcan, and Clark wants to cry.

"That was my pizza," he says quietly, his eyes brimming with tears.

"Where did you get pizza money from?" Ashley asks him, very interested in where Clark got money for food.

"My mom gave it to me."

"Your mom? You mean the woman who kept you from me?" Ashley scoffs and lights up a cigarette.

"That was my pizza; she gave me the money."

"Where are you stashing this money? Give it to me right now." She steps towards him, but he holds his ground.

"No. She gave it to me; it's mine."

Ashley grabs his wrist and drags him to his room. "Give me the money, where is it!" She shouts at him; he starts to cry.
