"That is good" Charlie agreed easily.

We were having a picnic in the park in the middle of town.

"I told you" I fed her another spoonful of the store bought cheesecake and she slid closer after seeing the way I strained slightly to reach her.

She was beautiful.

Her hair was up and she was wearing a yellow sundress, I couldn't help but notice that this was the second time I'd seen her in a dress, the first being graduation.

Though it was unintentional, I found myself liking the way we matched.

"You're staring again" Charlie pointed out

"Can't I?"

"I suppose you can" She smiled at me before opening her mouth for another slice of the cheesecake.

The park was slightly crowded today but we had managed to snag a good spot under a nice shady tree.

"When do you leave for college?" Charlie asked randomly, head turning to watch me.

"First week of September"

"That's in a month" She smiled at me sadly.

"Yeah" I concentrated on picking the weeds around us so I wouldn't have to see the look she was giving me.

"I'm sad that we met at the end of senior year, you're gonna leave soon and I'll be stuck here waiting for you to come home for holidays"

"I mean you could move to new york with me"

Stupid, I'm so stupid. Why did I say that?

"Gia Kim, are you asking me to move in with you?"

I couldn't answer, felt stupid even suggesting it. We hadn't been dating long enough to even think about that, why would I suggest that?

"Sorry, that was stupid" I plucked daisies to spin them together.

"Not stupid just..." She trailed off, shaking her head with a tender smile.

"Let's pretend like I didn't suggest something so weird" I plopped the finished daisy crown onto her head, admiring the way it looked in her hair.

"We can, if it'll make you feel better" She tapped a few times on her phone and a slow song began to play.

Charlie grinned at me, standing and extending her hand to me.

"You're kidding"

"Nope" She pulled me towards her.

"You're so weird" Still I swayed with her.

"Says the one that just asked me to move across the country with her"

"You just said we wouldn't talk about it!"

"Sorry, I won't bring it up again" She laughed into my shoulder.

"That's a lie"

"Probably" I slapped her shoulder lightly and she laughed harder.

"I'm really gonna miss you" She whispered after some time had gone by of just us dancing.

"I'm not gone yet"

"But you will be soon, won't you"

I hugged her closer to me for comfort, willing myself to remember how she felt.

"I'll come back" I promised.

"I know, you can't get enough of me" She joked but I could feel her sadness.

"Charlie-"

"Don't, just hold me"

"Okay" I found myself agreeing.
