Corbin's POV

"Jeremy, you can't just beat the shit out of people." It was Niamh's voice, and she was furious. I was slowly coming out of whatever drug induced sleep I was in.

"He shouldn't have kidnapped your son."

I heard Niamh sigh. "My mother probably did it. She thinks that by being near Heath, he'll realize who his dad is."

Jeremy scoffed. "He's been with him for an entire day, maybe more, and he doesn't know. He won't know until you tell him."

"Which I'm not going to." I must have moved because Niamh whispers angrily, "Don't say anything to him."

"Whatever,' he snaps and I hear what sounds like him walking away.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm out of here." After a few moments I begin to stir, my muscles and face aching. I open my eyes and see Niamh chewing on her lip and staring at the ground with an irritated and upset expression. When she notices me looking, she steps up to the side of the hospital bed. "Hey Corbin. How are you feeling?"

"Like shit," I croak out and Niamh laughs a little, her beautiful smile shining down at me. My nose hurts and I realize it's because there's a breathing thing in it, and it's braced. "How bad do I look?"

Niamh tilted her head and lifted her hand to barely touch her fingers to my cheek. "I'd say Jeremy made a huge improvement."

I laughed but it was interupted with a groan. "Owie.."

"I am so sorry for what Jeremy did. I didn't realize he'd react that way. He's usually not a violant person."

I shrugged, and fought the urge to wince. "It's whatever. I'm sorry I had your son without you knowing. Your mother had some business to take care of or something and needed me to watch him for her."

Niamh scowled. "My mom's a liar. She was home this entire time. I'm so sorry she put you in that position."

"It's fine. I had a great time with him. Mom said we acted like twins." Niamh frowned at me sadly, but didn't say anything. "Niamh, I want to apologize for what happened. I never meant to hurt you. I-"

She pressed her finger softly to my lips and I kissed it. "Please don't Corbin," she whispered, tears brimming in her eyes. "I'm over you, and you can't change that."

"But Niamh, please."

She shook her head. "You have Addaline, and I have Jeremy. It wouldn't be fair to them."

"But what about us? What about what we want?"

"I know what I want. I want Jeremy. I can trust him. He's never done anything that made me think otherwise. He's never hurt me."

"Niamh, please.-"

"No Corbin," she said firmly. "You have your life and I have mine."

I opened my mouth but Addaline's squeels stopped me. "Baby! You're awake! I have some news that will make you the happiest man on earth!"

Niamh got up and began to walk to the door. "Niamh, wait!"

"Yes, Niamh. Wait. Corbin, I'm pregnant!"

Something that looked like hurt flashed across Niamh's eyes, but it was quickly shoved to the side. "Congratulations," she mumbled before rushing from the room.

"Oh baby, we're gonna have a family! Isn't that wonderful?" I stared after Niamh. "Corbin?"
