Stubborn in Love

Chapter Eleven

Yesterday, you had opened up to Wanda about what happened. Today was the day you're going to face the team again. You get out of bed and head to the kitchen for lunch, since you slept in today. You pass the team on the way there but you pay them no attention. "Hey y/n!" Clint said with joy because he hadn't seen you in 2 weeks. You turn to look at the group and don't see a certain face. "She's on a mission." Clint says as he could tell you were looking for her.

After lunch you go back to the common room and sit on one of the couches to listen in on their conversation. "Good to see you again y/n" Tony says and everyone verbally agrees causing the air to be filled with "Yeahs".

They catch you up on everything that you missed and you and the next 6 hours consist of chatting and joking around. Everyone was going around the circle and telling their best joke and it was finally your turn, "Why does Thor's brother never make a good impression at parties? He's too Low-key." you say and everyone bursts out in laughter. "Good thing Loki isn't here, he'd probably kill you for that." Wanda says as she tries to catch her breath.

"I'm going to get a drink" you say and walk through the door into the kitchen. While you're in the kitchen the elevator dings and opens to reveal Natasha returning from her mission. They all wave at her and then go back to talking. "Hey guys" Nat says to the group, "Hey Nat" Clint says, speaking for the whole group. "Has y/n stopped moping in her room yet" she says with sarcasm that's a little too subtle to hear. They all just stared at her, "What?" she responds to theirs glares. Suddenly they hear your bedroom door slam shut.

Natasha realizes that you probably heard what she said. 'Great I probably made her hate me more than she already does.' Natasha thinks so herself. She grabs her bag and goes to her room to unpack and change out of her mission suit. Luckily her room is right across from yours so she can listen in on you.

Shortly after Natasha leaves the common room, Bucky gets up from his seat to talk to you. He knocks on your door and waits a few seconds. "Hey y/n/n its me, Buck? I'm coming in okay?" He doesn't hear anything coming from your room so he opens the door. He steps in but doesn't see you, "y/n/n you can show yourself, it's just me" he said with a giggle. When he doesn't get a response, he begins to panic a little when he spots a note on your bed.

'I'm looking at the stars'

Wanda and Peter walk in to your room and their eyes travel aroung the room with puzzeled faces, "Wheres y/n?" Wanda says. Bucky hands them the note, "What does this mean? Is she okay?" Peter asks now worried for his bestie. "Shes fine, I know where she is" Bucky says and they give him questioning looks. "She went to the meadow I took her for our date" he says as he begins to walk out of the room. He stops by his room to grab his jacket and keys, then makes his way to the elevator.

"Buck, where are you going?" Steve asks and the entire team turns to him waiting for the answer. "I'm going to get y/n" he says and steps into the elevator. "What do you mean? She left?" Tony asks and Bucky just nods, "Don't worry she's just went out to calm down." They hear Bucky say before the elevator doors close.

"That's cute" Peter said as he and Wanda re-entered the common room. "What is?" Bruce asked. "Y/n left a note that only Bucky would understand." Peter replied and he turned to Wanda with a dopey smile covering his face and she just shook her head and giggled at him.

Natasha heard the entire thing and took it upon herself to follow him and apologize to you. She's never felt so guilty about hurting someone's feelings before, but there's something about you that makes her just want to please you 24/7. That's why she tries to be mean to you, because she doesn't want to feel like this all the time anymore. If she can't have you then she will push down her feelings, and the only way to do that is push you away.

She follows Bucky all the way out to a meadow, it's beautiful. 'I can tell why you'd like a place like this, you can see the stars out here.' Natasha thinks to herself as she turns off her car. You and Bucky are not very far out in the field so even though it's pitch black outside. She sees you and Bucky hug and that's when she decides to step out of the car.

After you pull away from your hug with Bucky, he starts to walk to his car and you follow until you see Natasha walking toward you. You stop in your tracks and Bucky turns to face you. "Are you sure you want to talk to her?" Bucky said and you nodded at him.

Natasha finally reached you guys, "I know you told me to never to speak to you again but please just hear me out?" You look at Bucky and nod, and he understands that you want to talk to her alone. "You can go home Bucky." Natasha says. He looks at you once again before walking to his car and driving off. Leaving you and Natasha alone.
