chapter fifteen

"baby"

"baby, wake up"

i squinted my eyes open from the light shoving and the distant voice echoing through the car

"we're here" she smiled

sitting up in my seat, i glanced at the black castle that stood before us. it was like a castle from the fairytales but instead of being bright, it's was dark, black to be exact. we were at the beginning of the drive way that led to the doors of the castle and it was long

i could feel my heart rate plumaging through my chest just by looking at it, i couldn't find my self to breath properly. my nervousness and terrified state took over me as i started hyperventilating

trying to catch my breath was hard, it was like i was chained to the bottom of the ocean gasping for air, but the only air seen were the air bubbles from me screaming for help

billie unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned over the middle console, she placed her hand on my arm "look at me"

it was just too much, i couldn't look at her. the thought of entering the castle horrified me especially not knowing what would happen next

her free hand found its way to my cheek and she turned my head to face her where we finally made eye contact.

the cold touch of her hand cooled down my blazed cheeks as if my cheeks were fire and her hand was the ice i needed to put it out

"breath in, breath out" i followed her instructions and began trying to level my breathing as billie joined me

i felt myself grow calm under billies presence

"see, it's okay baby i got you" she smiled before placing a gentle kiss upon my lips, god her lips are so perfect

i opened my eyes as she pulled away "if you wanted to calm me faster, you should've kissed me first"

"if you've forgotten, you make me grow boners when we kiss, it would be embarrassing to walk in there like that" she laughed

"do you have one now?" i asked

"no, but it does feel tingly i think it's happy" she responded as i laughed

she glanced at the castle and then glanced back at me "don't be afraid, i'll be right next to you" i nodded and she grabbed onto my hand

she began making her way up the long drive way and we were soon standing before the huge doors that led inside the castle

billie let go of my hand and began knocking on the door, which i took as my chance to let go of the breath i seemed to be holding

an old vampire opened the door and eyed billie before eyeing me viciously, "is she one of the slaves?" he hissed out in disgust

"no she's a half breed not a slave, the council has requested to see her" billie held her head up while speaking

"why does she reek of human?" he asked but this time eyeing me like he wanted to kill me

"im half human, half witch and i won't get cut down by some old outdated vampire" i spoke walking up to him, i couldn't get ran over like this especially if i'm some powerful sorceress

i've never seen this so called power i hold but i have to stand up for myself, i just hope it doesn't get me killed

he widened his eyes as if it had caught him off guard, he finally let us inside of the castle and began taking us on the journey to the councils lair
