chapter twenty-four

"have you read through the books?" kitana asked

"mhm" i mumbled. technically i wasn't lying i did read some of the pages in the book ... maybe about four but while raven drove me to wicca territory i skimmed through the books using my super speed

kitana puffed out air and crossed her arms, "if you wish to be powerful the least you could do is read through two books."

"i did read through the books."

"no you didn't."

"yes i did."

"enchant the razus spell, pick something in the room and make it float." she commanded. okay so maybe i should read the books again because what the fuck was the chant

i gulped and walked over to a chair, "uhmm so, now i'm going to preform the spell."

"i'm waiting." she rolled her eyes

i furrowed my eyebrows at her eye roll before glancing at the chair in front of me, "jazuli guntu karto lotuq" i enchanted over and over again. my eyes widened as the chair began to rise up off the ground. holy shit those were the words? i said a whole bunch of random shit

i turned towards kitana with a smile on my face, but just as i did the chair dropped and landed on my foot forcing a scream to release from my lips. i took my foot in my hand, jumping around like a frog

"you can't even feel pain." i opened my eyes and realized that i didn't feel pain. so i was just being over dramatic

"oh" i released my foot and sat on the table filled with weapons, potions and spells, "so how'd i do?"

"completely terrible."

"what? how?" i scrunched my nose up in confusion. it was my first time using my powers purposefully on demand

"the words you muttered were complete jibberish"

"so then how did i make it float?"

"somehow you've mastered the art of gabora. you don't need to remember spells to use them, you can execute spells by thinking about them. if you focus hard enough on what you want to accomplish than your wish will be granted."

"the art of what?"

"gabora" she sighed irritated, "you need to start listening. see if you can summon a ball of energy into your hands. remember to focus on it, concentrate."

i held my hands out in front of my face, and stared into them, concentrating as hard as i could. small balls of blue energy began growing in both of my hands as i focused harder

my eyes widened while they began to float around. a soft laugh escaped my lips, the sight in front of me was unbelievable. never in a million years would i think that i'd be holding balls of energy

"perfect, now shoot the balls of energy at the wall." i glanced back at kitana before glancing back at my hands. i slowly turned towards the wall and turned my hands outwards. i pushed them towards the wall but nothing happened, i tried and tried but still nothing

"try again."

"it's not working." i groaned shaking my head

"try harder."

i stared at her with my resting bitch face before turning back towards the wall. my eyes fluttered close and i began to calm my nerves

my eyes slowly opened, and the glowing floating balls in my hand began to merge as one. it became one huge ball of energy. i pointed my hands outwards and pushed my hands towards the wall
