so i don't know if you can tell but i really like catgirls.

and Ganyu.

partial modern au? like it takes place in the world of teyvat but there's modern technology such as phones. there's still hillichurls and stuff tho.

Rain poured heavily outside. Thunder boomed in the sky. And where were you?
Well, you luckily happened to be inside, however your girlfriend Ganyu was nowhere to be seen.

You were especially worried because she was a catgirl, and they tend to be afraid of thunder.

"I wonder where she could be... it's been around an hour since she said she would be home..." You thought as you stared out the window, awaiting her arrival. Well, no point in waiting here. You were quite hungry, and wanted to wait until Ganyu came home so you both could eat together, but since she didn't seem to be coming home anytime soon, you might as well make some food.
Walking away from the window, you went into your kitchen to make a sandwich.

Right as you went to take out the bread, you heard the door open. Immediately, you went to the door to see Ganyu.
She was wet from the rain and her cat ears and tail drooped, she looked like she was crying.

"Ganyu? Are you okay?"

She looked at you and immediately pulled you into a hug. "Y-Y/N..." She sniffled.

"What's wrong? Wait, no, before that, let's get you dry and warm first, okay?" You said, gently grabbing her by the hand. She nodded and followed you. You took her to the bedroom and told her to sit down.

[Timeskip because i am lazy lol]

After you had finally got Ganyu dry (which proved to be a difficult task, considering all of the water her fluffy tail can hold), you both settled on the couch, her laying on your lap while you softly rubbed her soft ears.

She sighed, finally calming down. "T-There were t-these people... w-who were throwing stuff a-at me... and they w-were saying r-really mean stuff." The catgirl whimpered.

Hearing this, you were angry. No, not just angry, enraged. What kind of monster would do such a thing to her?

For now though, you took a deep breath. "What were they saying?"

"S-Stuff about being a c-catgirl and a qilin... stuff like i-i'm a freak for it... a-and i don't belong."

"Ah." You nodded. "Well then, come here."

You had your arms in a hug position, and as Ganyu snuggled close into your arms, you tightened your embrace. She purred happily.

"Ganyu, I want you to listen to me." You started. "I love you so much. You being a catgirl-qilin doesn't bother me one bit, okay? In fact, it makes me love you more. Your qilin horns and cat ears are adorable. I adore your fluffy tail, it's warm and so fluffy. Please never think otherwise. I think you're the best person in Teyvat. I am so glad to be your girlfriend, and you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. You're... purrfect."

You looked down to see her staring back at you, her eyes glazed over with emotion. She started to cry again, but this time, they were happy tears. Tightening her grip on your chest, she nuzzled into it while also cuddling you hardly.

"Y/NNNNN... I love you s-so much..."

"I love you too, Yuyu. Now, let's watch a movie, okay?" You picked up the remote.

"Can we watch a disney movie?!"

"Whatever you want."

So, the two of you settled into a position where you could hold onto each other, but also see your tv.
Eventually, you both ended up falling asleep in each other's arms.

You ended up finding and confronting the guys who were hurting Ganyu.

"Hey."

"Wha? Who're you?" The largest man (who you assumed was the leader) said.

"Not important. Hey, were you the ones who were messing with that catgirl earlier?" You asked them.

"The one with the blue hair 'n horns? Yeah, s'ppose that was us. What about it?"

"Well, let me inform you that she's my girlfriend. And I can't believe how sick you have to be to do that to someone as innocent as her." You glared, crossing your arms.

"Oi, whatsit to ya?" Another man grumbled at you.

"What's ya point here, girl?" The way the boss said the word "girl" made your blood boil.

"You shitbags made her cry!"

"Well what's that got to do with us?!"

You heard enough. You [unsheathed/readied] your [weapon], [element] energy swirling around you.

(A/N: just pick whichever weapon and element you want)

"T-Tch, is that supposed to be threatening?!" One of the men walked up to you. He was taller than you, but he still seemed a bit threatened, despite what he just said.

"Y'know, for someone who just said that, you seem quite threatened." You yawned, flipping your weapon in the air.

"Why you little-" He came at you, but you immediately countered his attack with a slash of [element].
The man fell to the ground, extremely hurt.
He looked at you, fear in his eyes, and fled.
You watched him run, then looked back at the other men. They all trembled in fear.

"U-Uh- w-we're s-" The boss tried to say before you interjected.

"No. Save it. I don't want to hear it." Walking up to him, you came up close. "Hurt me or my girlfriend again, and the last thing you'll be worrying about is a few elemental scars."

The man instantly nodded in fear, and you put your weapon back into it's resting position. You turned away, and started to head back home.

The gang just stared at you walk away, frightened to even say anything while you were nearby.

And so, they never bothered anyone again.

Especially Ganyu, for they now knew the consequences.

you know you're a good author when you also want to beat up characters in your own story.

jk im not a good author lol.

but im trying aha.

this was short but i'm quite proud of it.
