Chapter 31 -Future Malfoy

Harry's POV:

"Dinner is ready everybody," Molly calls from the kitchen. I get up holding out my hand to Draco to help him up. He takes it smiling.
"It'll be alright," I tell him mostly to reassure myself.
He nods shyly as we all head back into the kitchen.
I take a seat next to Draco and George opposite Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Percy. Bill and Fleur sit opposite each other, Fleur beside Draco and Molly and Arthur at the ends of the table.
"Oooo Mexican. I'm starving," Ron says loading up his plate with fajitas.
Draco smiles awkwardly and I rest my hand on his leg underneath the table reaching over to put things that I think he might like onto his plate before I do my own.
"Thank you for this Molly, it's really lovely," Hermione says tucking into her dinner, Ron nods enthusiastically his mouth still full of food.
"Make sure you eat too dear," Molly says looking at me.
"Of course, Molly," I chuckle putting food onto my own plate and passing some rice to Fleur.
"This is wonderful Mrs Weasley, I can't thank you both enough for inviting me," Draco says politely smiling at Molly and Arthur.
"You are welcome any time Draco," Arthur laughs but Molly makes no comment.
"How is work Percy?" Molly asks her son.
"It's good mother. I am still working with international magical cooperation. We are working closely with European governments for now. We are looking at the buildup before the war with the hope that we can prevent similar events in other countries."
"Well that's a very good idea. Nip that sort of thing in the bud before it escalates. It would have made everything much better if all of you know who's supporters and sympathisers were arrested when the Dark lord was vanquished the first time," Molly says glaring at Draco slightly.
I bite my lip staring down at my plate trying to ignore her.
"Yeah I suppose that, that's the departments idea," Percy shrugs, "there are also people working on tracking bonds and more travel limitations placed on those with associations to the dark lord and those like him. They are currently working on a trace linked to the branding magic associated with the dark mark. That way it can be done without the offenders knowledge. But that only covers the inner circle so might not be the most effective."
I watch Draco's eyes widen with this new information. I to feel repulsed at this, they can't do that. I watch Hermione's mouth fall open as she frowns.
"That's terrible," she gasps and Fleur nods in agreement.
"It will probably be rather useful to the authorities in keeping everybody safe from violent offenders," Molly says with a shrug.
"It's vile, I can't believe they are even considering it," I say holding Draco's hand tightly noticing that he doesn't look very comfortable. He is staring into his food chewing very slowly.
"I'm sorry Molly, but I do agree with Harry and Hermione on this one. No one should be tracked without their knowledge. Those convicted of crimes are in prison so there whereabouts are known and those that were not convicted shouldn't be tracked at all. The trials proved them innocent and they should be treated as such," Arthur says and I nod in agreement, I'm glad he spoke up, hopefully it makes Draco feel more comfortable.
"Yes that is exactly what the lawyers are saying, which is why the plans aren't getting approved," Percy informs us. I notice Draco look slightly relieved.
"They aren't going to get approved Draco," I tell him firmly.
"You don't know that Harry," he says quietly.
"Yes I bloody do Draco. I'm not going to let it happen." He smiles gratefully taking my hand under the table.
"Do you really have that much power Harry?" Molly asks her eyes widening. I shrug but Percy cuts in.
"He really does. He could be minister in a few years if he wanted, they'd all do whatever he asked" he laughs grinning at me.
"I'd be a great minister," I joke and Percy nods in agreement sarcastically.
"What would your first law be? Anyone who says anything that you deem negative to Draco gets imprisoned?" Ron jokes making Draco and Hermione snigger.
"I don't know what's funny? That sounds like a brilliant law, although I'm not sure if just imprisonment is harsh enough," I say making them smile.
"Oh no, what would you ave done to them?" Fleur asks laughing.
"I don't think you want to know, but it would be unbelievably horrible," I joke making Draco giggle and wink at me.
"Thanks Harry," he says smiling at me.
"No problem Dray."
I smile back and continue to eat the last of my food, noticing most people are finished.
"You have become much more aggressive since going back to hogwarts," Molly laughs collecting the plates and bowls with her wand and dropping them into the sink, spelling the cloth to clean them.
"I wonder why that is," she glances at Draco moving over to the oven to take out the dessert.
"Ha, he's always had a temper," George laughs. "But I've never seen someone be able to keep him calm like Draco. You have a skill there mate."
"What can I say. I have lots of skills," he laughs.
I rest my hand on his thigh rubbing it gently.
