Jealous Type

Just another regular day when Yuyan pulled up on Thursday morning to pick up Zhang Yuge at the usual time like she  often do, when she saw a sight she never thought she'd ever see

Zhang Yuge was talking to someone new. It was a girl who looked to be around their age maybe a little younger but she had shaggy almost curly brunette hair and hazelnut eyes that were similar to Zhang Yuge but not nearly as striking. This was definitely different because usually when she met someone new they'd be threatened or scared off, but not only was she not threatening her, she was laughing, with her, not at her

Eventually Zhang Yuge noticed Yuyan waiting patiently in the car so grabbed her gears of war shoulder bag and jumped up so she could slip her phone in her pocket. Then she bent down to whisper something in the girl's ear then stood up, both grinning

"Bye, I'll see you after school!" She yelled as she waved to the mystery girl and hurried towards the car

"So" Yuyan started after they had been driving for a minute "who was that?"

"Oh that was Jiaqi" she replied very nonchalantly

"Why'd you tell her you'd see him after school? I thought you were coming round my place today?"

Yuyan felt a little bit hurt since they always hung out and Zhang Yuge never really spent time with anyone else, other than cat of course but she never usually lasted more than two hours alone with her

"We always hang out, and you always get to hang out with stupid Keni, so why can't I hang out with her"

Yuyan didn't have a good enough reason to fight against Zhang Yuge. She decided not to mention the whispering and smiling at all since she knew it would just fuel a new fight so she rest of the car ride was silent

School went by very quickly and Yuyan had forgotten all about Jiaqi since she and Yuge were inseparable in school that day. It was only when she started to drive towards her house that Yuge reminded Yuyan to drop her at her own house instead

"You're not really hanging out with her are you?" She asked turning to face her once they'd arrived and parked

"Yeah, I am. I told you this morning you hang out with Keni so I'm hanging out with Jiaqi! She's a pretty cool girl"

Yuyan was getting angry now but she kept her cool. Who knows maybe this girl just moved in and she was showing her around or something. Nah, who was she kidding Zhang Yuge never talked to new people or offered help but she still let this one slide, it was probably just a one time thing

"Ok bye babe I'll text you later" she simply replied while placing a kiss on her cheek

As she watched Yuge leave, she was still so confused because not only was she getting along with a stranger but she had also called her "a pretty cool girl" She wouldn't even call Diamond a pretty cool girl and they had been friends for almost four years. Pushing it out of her mind she still kept thinking "it's no big deal, it's like when you watch movies with Keni, it's a one time thing"

It was not a one time thing

For the past few weeks whenever she pulled up to her house at 7:30 to pick her and they were both sitting outside on her front steps talking and laughing. Then when she dropped her off after school he was always waiting, she never spoke to Yuyan or even acknowledged her presence, she just sat there. Yuyan was starting to think she never left her porch

She even showed up at their school sometimes during lunch and surprised her while she was with everyone else. Jiaqi never chat with them though, she and Zhang Yuge always went somewhere to eat lunch together and Yuyan wasn't happy about it

It was only been a month after she appeared, when Yuyan finally snapped

Zhang Yuge had been lying on Yuyan's couch with her for what felt like the first time in a year when her phone buzzed and she quickly read it then jumped up and grabbed her purse before hurrying towards the RV door

"Where are you going?" Yuyan called from he couch where he remained

"I'm going to City with Jiaqi" she explained

"Why are you always with her? This is the first time in almost a month, that we've hung out" she said close to yelling and starting a fight

Luckily Yuge diffused the situation quickly

"Awww is ms perfect jealous of the neighbor girl?" she teased while walking back to her and fixing the edges of her flannel where the buttons were

Surely she wasn't jealous there's no way that the great Yuyan could get jealous. It was like being in a jump scare, not possible

"No, it just feels like you're spending all your time with your new little crush and not with me and we really need to hang out for real, without interruptions" she explained while rambling

She scoffed at this

"So you're jealous" Zhang Yuge stated with her usual tone again

"No I- I just -i fe-"

"She's not my new little crush Yan, don't worry" she cut her off

"She's my cousin" she said placing a kiss on a very stunned Yuyan's lips "I'm not into her. That would be like Sunrui's level weird. Plus you know I'd never willingly make a new friend"

"Wait what did you whisper in her ear then?!" She called out to her after a minute of sitting there

"That you're my girlfriend and that I wanted revenge on you for always making me jealous" she called as she walked out and threw her purse over her shoulder again

"And it worked" she added turning back to fake smile at her before continuing towards her car

It really had worked. On other hand, Yuyan was relieved but she also felt a mixture of guilt and gullibility. At least she knew she wouldn't have to worry anymore, but she vowed to never get jealous again and it worked. 

Not until Wu Zhehan came along...
