"...and if one of my descendants doesn't get married to a sanders, then y'all will keep falling-in-love till the end of time!".
Cassie's POV
{Flash-Back}
"Oh Grams, you wouldn't believe what he asked me today!". I say aloud to Grandma Agnes as I lay on the couch right across where she sat on her rocking chair knitting her cardigan.
"You've always got something steamy to tell me about your day. So spill". She said anxiously.
I tried to picture the whole scenario of today again because literally it's a memory I ain't gonna ever forget.
"He asked me to marry him". I spilled cheerfully.
"He what?". She was caught off guard as her ocean eyes shone bright in surprise.
Yes, Grandma Agnes was the only one that supported my relationship with Nathaniel Sanders. She encouraged me to be with the one I love and wanted me to end up with him so badly.
"As you earlier heard me say. To marry him!".
Her look was priceless.
"So tell me what your response was?". She was ready to blow up in joy but...
Oops.
"I told him to ask me when I'm 21 and I'll say yes". As I thought, her joy was crashed.
"You're fuckin' kidding me, Blake!". As she calls me by my middle name looking pissed.
"Look Grams, I'm not Bella Swan from the Twilight Saga who got married at 18". I made a reference to the Twilight Saga since it was her favorite novel and movie.
"You don't have to be Bella, Marriage is a thing of Joy!". She exclaimed.
"I know but I've got to enjoy my days as a teenager and an adult before exchanging vows on the alter as a married woman who'd be ready to raise children with someone's son!".I gave my reason. I knew she would understand, she had to!
"Very well, I'll be looking forward to your marriage with Nathan Sanders at 21". She was delighted.
"Thank you". I knew she will understand. "You'll be my chief bridesmaid, grams". I smiled.
"No way, I'm way too old for that. Josie would do!". She let out a small laugh but I couldn't miss the tear that rolled out.
"Grams, you okay?". I asked concerned.
"I wish I had the same chance with Noel Sanders if he had proposed, but they'd call me a home-wrecker and a whore, so we had to let go". She was down now, a mood I hate to see her in.
Grandma Agnes always talked about Noel Sanders since we became Bestfriends.
Yes, you heard that!
She shared the darkest part of herself with me, a part no one knows. On how she got so insanely attracted to Noel Sanders at first sight, with a ring on her finger and a 7-year-old son. She had constantly cheated on her husband with Noel secretly and no-one ever suspected.
They wanted to plan to run-away together but he couldn't because of his 3 children and a family business drama he always had to take care of, being the Over-Lord. So then, he called things off with her and said his last goodbye to her in a love letter he wrote to her during the autumn of 1974.
She never saw him again and she felt it was a way the Almighty was punishing her for being a cheating wife but she knew whatever she felt for Noel was real but he wasn't the one for her. So, to redeem herself from adultery she became a devoted christian and walked in the light of God and so did her Son who later became a pastor and also became my Father... Oops!
