PALE - Jihyo x Male Reader

CHAPTER 4

Y/N'S POV

I start wondering around the palace but for the first time ever, without any guard. Everything is exactly the same, but I still feel that fear when I lock eyes with vampires.

The palace is filled with plenty of aristocratic and their respectives slaves. And if there are slaves, there's blood smell, and it's driving me crazy. I had Jihyo's blood before, but my new vampire body needs more, much more. And I hate myself for that.

I keep on walking around until I reach what seems to be a kitchen. Here they might prepare humans food. I approach the person cooking and try to take a bite of what he's preparing.

-Cook: No!

The moment the food lands in my stomach I feel the extreme necessity of vomiting. How's possible? Just some months ago I found it good enough to be eaten.

-Cook: Sir, you can't eat this! Vampire bodies can't hold it. You can only take blood, if you are hungry, just take mine (exposes his neck)
-Y/N: (coughs after vomiting) Are you a vampire?
-Cook: I'm a human sir.
-Y/N: Who's your owner?
-Cook: I belong to the queen, sir.
-Y/N: Then, how can you expose yourself to me like that? Would you break a law? Don't underestimate your life like that! ( shouts while throwing the food to ground)

I then realise what I've done so I start apologising immediately. Why can't I control my emotions as I would like to? I sigh and leave the kitchen after checking the time. 00:00, vampires are about to have their daily dose of blood.

I try to return to my room and once I arrive, I find four girls sitting in my bed. And on the right, there's Jihyo smiling at me.

-Jihyo: Are you done with causing trouble around? (chuckles)
-Y/N: It was not my intention.
-Jihyo: Y/N... I left you alone just during three hours (sighs) The cook will need to prepare their food from the beginning because of your clumsiness. What was going on inside your head when you decided to eat human's food? (giggles)
-Y/N: How are you aware of that?
-Jihyo: I use my powers to keep you under control (smiles) I'm giving you freedom, but I need to have an eye on you.
-Y/N: Are you able to hear what I talk about to?
-Jihyo: (nods) You aren't going to free anyone. Mina got what she deserved, and about those slaves-
-Y/N: Don't do anything to them!
-Jihyo: Okay Y/N, I won't do anything to anyone if you are a good boy (smiles) Do you understand what I mean?
-Y/N: (nods) What are these girls doing here, though?
-Jihyo: Ah! They are your dinner, or our dinner... We can consider it our first date? (smiles) I know your body is still in need of blood.
-Y/N: Are they humans?
-Jihyo: (nods) It's the only way, you can't survive with only my blood. Be a good boy and take them.
-Y/N: You will too?
-Jihyo: Of course, it's our first dinner together (smiles)

We get in the bed with the four girls, I look at Jihyo and she looks back at me. I'm totally against abusing humans, but only Jihyo knows what would it happen if I didn't follow her orders.

-Y/N: What are their names?
-Jihyo: That doesn't matter.
-Y/N: We should thank them for giving their blood as our dinner. Please.
-Jihyo: (rolls her eyes) Fine fine, Y/N. Introduce yourselves mobs, my boy is kind enough to thank you for your service.

The girls introduce themselves and then two of them get closer to Jihyo and the other two to me. Jihyo smirks and then shows her fangs piercing their necks.

I imitate her with one of the girls who are supposed to be my dinner. Unconsciously, I start sucking more and more but at the same time start crying. I don't have any humanity left in me.

The girls leave the room once we are satisfied. I would like to have a look of how horrible I am with this blood coming down my chin. But the mirrors can't reflect my image anymore.

-Jihyo: Why are you crying?
-Y/N: Cause I can't accept this... I want to be a human again.
-Jihyo: That's like saying that you want to be slave and lose your freedom. Being a vampire is much more than just be monster who suck blood from humans.
-Y/N:...
-Jihyo: We created this world (smiles) We improved the technology, we have superpowers that help humans enjoy their life until they are sold as slaves. Slaves themselves are okay with it, you saw it with those maids you met.
-Y/N: But Jihyo, they are sold like objects and I don't find that-
-Jihyo: (takes my hand and brings me to the window) What do you see outside?
-Y/N: The main square.
-Jihyo: And what else? Who's there?
-Y/N: Vampires with their human slaves.
-Jihyo: And there? (points to a group of kids playing)
-Y/N: Kids.
-Jihyo: They are humans and vampires playing together. Some of them will own the others, but look at how do they enjoy together? (smiles) It's just an adapted society, vampires have families, vampires have jobs, vampires... (looks at me) Have feelings too.

I take another look at the square and find vampire kids running towards their parents while laughing. How could I call them monsters? I look back at Jihyo who's smiling at me. Her smile includes sharp fangs, but it's a smile still.

-Jihyo: Do you understand it now? As a vampire princess my responsibility is to maintain this peace and balance between humans and vampires (smiles) When you called me a monster I couldn't help but to feel terribly hurted. Cause in the end, it would mean that you hate me just for being a vampire, just because I'm different to you.
-Y/N: (takes a breath) You are right... I shouldn't had said that. But, why did you make me one of yours?
-Jihyo: You didn't leave me any other option, it was the only way to keep you by my side (smiles) Now, I'm more than glad to show you my culture and costumes. I'll teach how to be a vampire and how to respect the balance.
-Y/N: Guess this is similar to the carnivores and herbivores relationship, right?
-Jihyo: That's exactly how it is, rabbits don't call wolves monsters. They respect each other (smiles)
-Y/N: (nods) I see it now, Jihyo.
-Jihyo: (hugs me) Then, it only rests to be happy together.

As if it was that easy, one thing is accepting to be a vampire and what it involves. But it's another issue to force love, there's really no way I'll accept it.
