Part 8: The Ultrasound

The next day

Betty's pov: We had slept all day yesterday, and today was the day of my appointment. I woke up real quick and ran to the bathroom and threw up. Jughead followed behind me then bent down and held my hair back. [J] " God, this morning sickness sucks, if I could take you pain away baby I would." I stop throwing up and stood up. [B] " Can you leave so I can change?" I said in a moody tone. [J] " Wha- baby are you okay?" [B] " Yes, now can you go I need to change!" [J] " O- okay.." he said in an upset tone. Then he left and went downstairs.

Jughead's pov: Betty practically shoved me out of my own room, so I went downstairs and talked to my mom. [J] " Hey mom, can we talk?" [H] Sure, what's up?" [J] " It's Betty, she doesn't want me around her she shoved me out of my own room." [H] " It's just the mood swings, you'll get used to it, just know that even though she may seem mean she still loves you, because I know sometimes you can forget and get all sad." [J] " Oh, okay I'll go back upstairs and talk to her." [H] " Okay, hurry up and get ready though, we have the ultrasound in thirty minutes. [J] " okay." I said as I walked away and ran up the stairs to go back in my room. I opened the door and went inside and shut the door behind me. [J] " Betty?" I walked into the bathroom and saw Betty crying. [J] " What's wrong love?" I said as I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her. [B] " I don't feel good Juggie, I can't do this I give up." [J] " No, don't give up, you're stronger than your mother your stronger than your sister your stronger than me so please don't give up." [B] " I love you Jug." [J] " I love you too, but we gotta get going your appointment is in a few minutes." [B] " Oh, yea." We both got ready then went downstairs and walked out the front door and got in the car then my mom came out shutting the door behind her and got in the car and drove us to the doctors office.

At the doctors

Betty's pov: We go to the doctors, me and Jug walked in and Hermione waited in the car. As soon as we got to the front desk I told the woman my name and she told us to sit down until the doctor comes to get us. Shortly we got called back and the doctor brought us to a room and I sat on the hospital bed as the doctor turned off the lights and told me to pull up my shirt, and he turned on the ultrasound machine and put lube all over my stomach and ran a scanner over it as the picture of my stomach popped up on the tv. Me and Jughead looked up at it and we saw our baby. [Dr.K] " It looks like your about three months and a half so almost four months pregnant." [B] " Well that can't be right I've been taking birth control ever since we got together and I only forgot it once so I should only be a few days into the pregnancy." [Dr.K] " Well Ms.Cooper, it appears your birth control didn't work." [J] " Well, do you know the sex?" [Dr.K] " Well no, not yet but I should by your next ultrasound which I have scheduled for three weeks from now on Tuesday." [J] " Okay." We left the doctors office and go back into the car and Hermione drove us home. [H] " So, did everything check out okay?" [B] " Yea, and I'm a lot later into the pregnancy than I thought, Tyra out my birth control wasn't working so I'm about four months in and next check up we find out the gender." [H] " Oh wow, I'm shocked because your still not really showing." [B] " Yea, I know right! I'm shocked too." We finally got back home and we all went inside. Me and Jughead went into his room. [J] " What do you think it is Betty?" [B] " What?" [J] " The baby." [B] " I don't know to be honest, but whatever it is I'm just glad it's healthy and I'll love it no matter what. But what do you think it is?" [J] " Same as you, but I feel like it's a girl but I want it to be a boy. Is that mean to say that." [B] " No, it's your opinion it's okay." [J] " Okay, not matter what I'll love it regardless." I giggled then he kissed me.

2 weeks later

Jughead's pov: It was around midnight and I have been up with Betty all night because she's been so sick recently, there's only two more day's until her four month check up and ultrasound. I am so excited to find out the gender of our baby, but I'll love it no matter what. Betty has been throwing up all night I feel so bad for her, and I wish that could be here tomorrow to help her but it's Monday so I have school and my mom said I could only stay home on Tuesday so I could go with her to her appointment.Betty was in the bath and she yelled my name.[B] "Juggie, and you come here!" [J] " Coming babe!" I ran into the bathroom and saw Betty lying in the bath. [J] " What's wrong princess?" [B] " Juggie, will you get in with me and cuddle me?" She looked at me with her sad eyes. [J] " Yes I will let me get my clothes off." [B] " Okay." I took my clothes off and shut the bathroom door, then Betty moved up so I could get in behind her. I sat down behind her then she moved back and sat in between my legs and I put my arms around her and cuddled her. I kissed her on her forehead as she fell asleep in my lap. About fifteen minutes later, she woke up crying I started running m fingers through her hair as I massaged her head. [B] " Jug, can we get out I'm tired?" [J] " Yea." She moved up and I stepped out and grabbed her a towel and helped her out then wrapped her up in the towel. Then I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my waist, and stood behind Betty wrapping my arms around her and rubbing her stomach.[B] " Jug, can you stay home tomorrow?" [J] " I wish I could I wanna be here for you, but Tuesday I get to stay with you to go with you to your appointment.But I'm gonna ask my mom if I can do school online like you so in case you get sick I'll be here." [B] " Oh okay." She looked at me sad. [J] " I'm sorry baby." She turned around and I hugged her. Then we both got dressed and left the bathroom and got in bed and cuddled. As we laid in bed I started spooning Betty till she fell asleep, then I fell asleep.
