you have a dark mind
and a black heart
your thoughts are wasted
you never finish your sentences or promises
it's like an empty stomach being with you
longing and painful, agony and cravings
thirst with nothing to quench it
suddenly you're there & then you're not
a glimpse of what's inside you
an angry ocean of a soul
regurgitating hurtful words
throw all your anxiety on me
but leave me with grieving desire
and you don't resuscitate my dying love
you put me in a coma, a constant state of static
white noise in your background, tuning a radio
can you hear me?
the signal is barely getting through
i've got something to tell you
can you change for me?
can you be the one i want most?
i'll wait for you, because soon it will be easy
like the night slips into the dawn
and the colors change in the sky
with nothing but the rising sun to blame
let your heart beat for once
open your eyes
blink like a butterfly flaps its wings
because you've wasted so much life
blaming others and commanding
a fleet of ships with no heading
but i have what you need
i'll heat your skin like an August afternoon
i'll ignite your brain like a hot copper wire
i'll calm your senses like a rolling lavender field
and have you longing for more life
than you know what to do with
you don't know what it's like to give in
or to be set free from your own mind
you devoured my soul but i can start to see yours
we can shine some light there
and i'll fix you like a mechanic
a rainbow will pour out of you
an overflowing sink of colors
all because of me
your greatest pretend
your worthiest achievement
your under appreciated counterpart
your only fan in the crowd
i'm not going anywhere
so stop trying to push me away
